Greetings!
Health care reform is one of the top concerns for businesses in 2013. The law has been implemented in stages for some time now but the bulk of it begins in 2014. For employers that continue to offer a group health plan there are many options and new opportunities. To help answer some questions we have prepared a short video. The video is under 8 minutes and can be found by clicking here.
Hopefully you find the presentation informative. We welcome your feedback, comments and questions. If you would like to discuss this information personally please email or call us for an appointment..
UPDATE: On December 28th there were clarifications by the IRS in proposed regulations. Those updates are: Groups that must offer benefits also need to make the coverage available to the employee's "dependents". Dependent is defined as the employee's children under age 26 (not the spouse). Also, the employer won't be penalized if they substantially meet the health insurance requirement by offering affordable coverage to 95% of the eligible employees (this will make more sense after watching the video).
