Double the Memory,
Double the Readings

with MadgeTech's re-designed 101A series of data loggers

MadgeTech is excited to announce that we have started the re-design and upgrade of our popular 101A series of data loggers with double the memory capacity! We have already upgraded and started shipping six different models within this series and will be rolling out the remainder of the series throughout this year.

MadgeTech's Temp101A is just one of the newly-designed 101A series of loggers to boast double memory and double the reading capacity.

According to Norm Carlson, MadgeTech president and founder, "This re-design came about as we worked with a customer who had a special need for double the memory for their application. It is common for us to work with customers to make custom design changes to our loggers and logging systems in order to help them achieve their goals, but in the case of the need for double the memory, we decided that this would be an outstanding change for all our 101A loggers."

"Double memory will be of particular interest to those with long-term recording applications," explained Thomas King, MadgeTech's Sales Supervisor, "Plus, since the double memory will eventually be available on all our 101A loggers, this means that it will service a wide variety of applications, from measuring wind speed on the top of a building to measuring the temperature of the exhaust on diesel trucks to ensure compliance with emissions regulations."

USDA Forest Service Gets Help Measuring Temperature of River Water

from MadgeTech's Durable, Affordable Temp1000 Data Loggers

When looking for a durable, affordable, user-friendly data logger to use in their measurement of river temperatures, MadgeTech's Temp1000 was an excellent option for the management at the USDA Forestry Service's PIBO Effectivness Monitoring Program.

The USDA Forest Service depends on the Temp1000's rugged, user-friendly design.

According to Jeffrey Ojala, PIBO's database analyst, "what we really found useful in these loggers was their tough stainless steel case, their handy design which features a cap through which we can thread the cable that hold the data loggers in place, and the fact that individual serial numbers are engraved on each logger, which is crucial for us, and much better than glued-on serial numbers, which tend to come off or become so weathered that they are unreadable."

The USDA's Forest Service uses MadgeTech's Temp1000 data loggers to measure and record temperature at rivers and streams throughout the western half of the country.

It is true that these loggers have a particularly rough existence in the PIBO program, as they spend much of the spring and summer months anchored to stream beds in the northwestern United States. Bed material constantly buffets the casing, while the loggers receive the occasional crush test from a rolling boulder. Floating debris, such as logs and branches, regularly test the strength of the logger's cap eyelet. "Despite the toughness of the environment," explains Ojala, "the MadgeTech loggers come back in excellent shape. And we use hundreds of your loggers each year, so I can say that with a large degree of certainty."
