The EDGE Improv's June 6th performance offers early-bird appeal for Father's Day - it's just right for dads of all ages - and, of course - for the families who love them.

The Cast
Among the performers you may or may not see: Ken Ballenger, Frank Buxton, John Ellis, Cynthia Lair, Susan MacPherson, Bhama Roget, Andrew Shields (on the grand pianner), Chris Soldevilla, and Matty Whitman.

"The name of our group, The EDGE, came from a discussion about improvisational performing. I started to "get it" after a horrible scene where we stood on the edge of a volcano and talked about jumping. I later realized that a scene doesn't really start until you jump. The fun, the craziness, the oddities all happen during freefall. To me, good improv is fun in freefall."  - Ken Ballenger

The EDGE Improv
20th Anniversary Season presented by
Rolling Bay Cafe!

The EDGE Improv has performed to sell-out crowds regularly at BPA for two decades, and this season marks their 20th anniversary. On the first Saturday of each month, the troupe presents an ingeniously improvised evening of on-the-spot comedy, all from audience suggestions. The troupe's riotous antics have earned a devoted community of followers, and have inspired rave reviews and commentary from audience and troupe members alike.

"We can't do it without you so please help us; otherwise we'll have to present our version of 'Birdman,' which will feature Chris in his tighty whiteys."
- Frank Buxton

June BPA Gallery: "Grey Matters, All Things Elephant"

Exhibit runs throughout June

"Safe Embrace," Monotype
Join us in the BPA Gallery June 5 for a special artist reception and an evening of art, food, fundraising, and friends. The crisis in poaching elephants in Africa for their tusks continues at a frightening pace. At the current rate of destruction, elephants could become extinct in Africa within six years. Ellis says, "We were moved by this crisis to focus on creating art work with the images of these magnificent animals...first in drawings, and then - under the instruction of Wendy Orville - in monotype prints." On the front line of this crisis, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage takes in the young after their parents are slaughtered. Sadly, the orphanage faces overwhelming demands and needs our financial assistance to take in more of the orphaned young. Proceeds from all gallery sales will benefit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant and rhino orphanage in Kenya.
