Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra presents "Shakespeare: Comedy and Tragedy with the BPA Shakespeare Society" at BPA April 18 & 19

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST! Channie Peters from Bainbridge Island Broadcasting conducts an informative and fun interview with Maestro Wesley Schulz and Tom Challinor of the BPA Shakespeare Society.

"His capacity to inspire artists is his greatest legacy. The stories are now so deeply entrenched in our culture that words, images, and even flowers can remind us of characters. In this program, we hear the emotions of those familiar characters in music. Shakespeare would have been pleased."
- Tom Challinor

Shakespeare has long been a source of artistic inspiration. His literary works have inspired visual art, plays, film, dance, music and more. BPA enjoys a month-long celebration of The Bard throughout April. Read more.

MAESTRO SCHULZ
Conductor Wesley Schulz is garnering attention for his fresh programming and imaginative performances as well as building orchestras and growing audiences. In constant demand, Schulz is the Music Director of the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Festival Orchestra and the Bainbridge Island Youth Orchestra. He has been lauded by musicians for his "intensity and emotion" in performances and for his "approachable and inspiring" leadership. SATURDAY, APRIL 25 @ 8:00 p.m.
Seattle super-harmonizers UNCLE BONSAI
Uncle Bonsai appears at BPA April 25
Imagine what might happen if Tim Burton hijacked the Andrew's Sisters en route to a Stephen Sondheim festival with The Beatles and Tom Lehrer in the sidecar; you'd get Seattle super-harmonizers Uncle Bonsai. With just three voices and an acoustic guitar, Uncle Bonsai presents an often dizzying vocal array of intricate harmony. Their songs, dark and hilarious at times, just as often delight with moments of great insight and beauty. The trio aligns itself with the underachiever, the dejected, the outsider, the black sheep. Densely-packed lyrics fly by in a whirr at times, and take a skewed stance on topics such as first-world problems, the creation of the universe, the afterlife, and, of course, holidays with the family. On April 25, Uncle Bonsai will present two thematic one-acts, "Brand New World" and "The Family Feast," featuring new songs, old songs, and songs from their upcoming release. Watch a video and read MORE. Don't miss out...get your TICKETS ($20) right now!
