BENJAMIN SALMAN

Benjamin Salman

Benjamin Salman is an eighteen year old homeschooled pianist and composer from Seattle. He studies with his father Mark Salman and performs regularly as part of the Seattle Conservatory of Music's performance program; he has had his compositions performed by members of the Seattle Symphony through his participation in the Seattle Young Composers Workshop.
THE PROGRAM
The EDGE Improv and Bainbridge Island Youth Orchestra join the BSO for an evening of hilarity and musical entertainment featuring works by Mozart, Rossini, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, Bloch, Nielsen, Bernstein, Strauss Jr., Hayman, and Chabrier. Pianist Benjamin Salman, BSO's 2013 Young Artist Competition 2nd Place Winner will play the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, "Emperor."

BSO HISTORY
The Bainbridge Orchestra was founded in 1972 by the late David Pence, when the Island's population was less than 13,000. It was adopted under the BPA umbrella in the spring of 1993 and changed its name to the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra in 2006.
