Volunteering is a great way to give back to our community, fulfill community service hours, acquire new skills, add to your resume, help stage a BPA production, and see an event for free.
BPA's volunteers give more than 1,500 hours a year, lending support with front-of-house ushering and concession sales, stage crew, spotlight operating, scenic carpentry, painting, and more. Concessionaires are especially in need, a role that's readily enhanced by MAST certification (a WA state license to serve alcoholic beverages). MAST certification is not a prerequisite to being a concessionaire, but it does add flexibility to the role. It costs $20 and takes a couple of hours online to complete, and we're pleased to offer a rebate for this expense to volunteers who serve five sessions as a BPA concessionaire. (You shouldn't have to pay to volunteer!)
Every performance on BPA's stage involves a unique and creative partnership between the directors, technicians, performers, sponsors, viewers...and...our high-octane, enthusiastic, and dedicated cast of rotating VOLUNTEERS.
