She was also a winner of the University of Texas- Butler School of Music String Concerto Competition, and her performance was nominated by the Austin Critics Table Awards for Best Instrumentalist. THE PROGRAM
Nature has always been a great inspiration for composers. Vysehrad is the first of a cycle of symphonic poems paying homage to the people and culture of Bedřich Smetana's native Bohemia. Likewise, Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, the "Pastoral," takes listeners on a journey through the Germany countryside, past a babbling brook, into a rainstorm, and ends with an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Don't miss the incredible beauty and fearless technique of cellist Elizabeth Lee who will perform two works for cello and orchestra by Respighi and Tchaikovsky.

BSO HISTORY
The Bainbridge Orchestra was founded in 1972 by the late David Pence, when the Island's population was less than 13,000. It was adopted under the BPA umbrella in the spring of 1993 and changed its name to the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra in 2006.
