President's Message:

Why Blacks 'n Business, Blacks 'n Technology event important

Can watching, observing or being around greatness help you become great? I believe so.

Want to be a good musician then study from one of the best musicians. Want to be a millionaire then study other millionaires. Want to be a pioneer in business and in technology then watch and study other pioneers in business and in technology. That's the opportunity we present this Saturday night May 9

th at our Blacks 'n Business, Blacks 'n Technology awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Santa Clara.

The event was SOLD OUT, but we've added a few seats (20) and they are on sale right now. Unfortunately its first come first served.

The response to this our first annual Blacks 'n Business, Blacks 'n Technology fundraiser has been tremendous. For those who cannot make it, we plan to film the awards ceremony along with Keynote Speaker Carol H. Williams and Special Guest Speaker George Fraser. The event MC'd by Marlon Smith, "the High Tech Motivator" promises to be something special as many people from around the SF Bay Area are coming out to support this cause that honors and recognizes the achievement of African Americans here in Silicon Valley.

Black Legend Awards - Silicon Valley Ceremony

The Black community has been established in the Santa Clara valley for more the 150 years.  The Antioch Baptist Church was organized in 1893 and The First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church was founded in 1864. The church has always been the foundation for the black community.  There is an African phrase that says "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today."  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, said "We are not makers of history we are made by history."

The Black Legend Award Ceremony is an opportunity for honoring the black pioneers of the Silicon Valley. These Black Pioneers left footprints in Technology, Business, Public Service, Education, Medicine, Law, and City Government.  There accomplishments need to showcase to the black youth and shared in the black community and beyond. If we do not tell their stories, who will?

The Black Legend Awards Ceremony is a fundraiser for the establishment of the Black History Museum - Silicon Valley. These Black Pioneers will be inducted into the Black Legends Hall of Fame. The Black Legends Hall of Fame will be an exhibit hall within the Black History Museum. This will be the permanent display for showcasing the recipients of the ten inaugural awards presented.

The inaugural Black Legend Awards - Silicon Valley will occur on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Parkside Hall - San Jose Convention Center. This will be the event of the year.

This is a Black Tie evening affair, Live Entertainment, Outstanding presenters and Interviewers on the BLA Red Carpet.

There is currently an Early Bird Special for ticket sales, you can save $50.00 on each ticket(s) purchase. The regular ticket price is $150.00. The Early Bird Special ends on May 15, 2015. To purchase your tickets TODAY go to our website and select tickets.

Come meet and share in the celebration of the 20 black pioneers being honored and inducted in the newly established Black Legends Hall of Fame.
