Plan for Self-Sufficiency
Endowment Fund & Fundraisers
When I accepted this position as chamber president, I quickly realized our chamber needed a plan for self-sufficiency; a plan where the chamber could operate every year regardless of having any other funding sources. For us to survive, we must have a plan for keeping the chamber solvent while providing the much needed services to a community of entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs. We need a plan for self-sufficiency, a plan for self-funding and now we have it.
Endowment Fund:
Part 1 of our plan is to raise 1 and a half Million Dollars over the next 3 years for an Endowment fund that would provide enough funds each year to keep the chamber's doors open. Ever heard of Crowd-Funding? If you'd like to help in raising and finding funds for the chamber, give us a call for more details.
Fundraisers:
Part 2 of our plan is to raise $50-$100k each year with our major fundraisers (first one listed below). These fundraisers are designed to not only raise funds for the chamber but to also provide a opportunity for the chamber to get its messages out to public.
First Fundraiser "Blacks 'n Business and Blacks 'n Technology"
Blacks 'n Business and Blacks 'n Technology is a ceremonial event designed to recognize and honor the achievements of African Americans who have made significant contributions in the fields of business and technology.
The awards planned that night will only help to contribute to the existing legacy of these pioneers and high achievers who many people don't know of and have no idea of their tremendous accomplishments and their impact on us here in Silicon Valley.
If you are interested in this dinner and gala affair, call the chamber and reserve your ticket. Advance ticket prices are $100 per/person.
