Our Mission

Leading positive change that transforms our community and improves people's lives in Snohomish County.

Zsofia's Story:

One Garden at a Time

Imagine for a moment that every family in Snohomish County has a roof over their head and healthy food on the table. Several years ago, this was only a dream for Zsofia and her family, who were living in poverty and could barely afford their basic needs.

Zsofia's life changed dramatically when she was accepted into a United Way initiative that provided classes on money management, saving and how to create an effective business plan. The program helped her to start her own successful landscaping business.

Today, Zsofia is giving back to the community in remarkable ways. In addition to her business, Zsofia has founded a nonprofit organization that promotes edible gardening as a way to address health and hunger in Snohomish County.

"It's so amazing to see people's lives change through their gardens. Thanks to United Way,
I'm able to do my part in strengthening the community, one garden
at a time." - Zsofia

Grants Process Update

For the past several months, our office has been humming with activity as part of the grant process. Each three-year funding cycle investment is made by each Vision Council and are based on the alignment of program services with that council's community outcome and priority investment areas, as well as the strength of the applicant's outcome-based evaluation systems. Stay tuned for award notifications coming in June!

United Way of Snohomish County: Project Homeless Connect

Project Homeless Connect

Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is a one-day event that brings together, in a single location, a wide variety of community volunteers and services for homeless people. Direct services are provided on site to help combat homelessness and related issues.

PHC is being held on June 27 at Cascade High School in Everett. In the last few years, we have served over 1,000 clients at the event and we expect increased participation this year.
