Principal's Message
This evening is the WCI Annual PTA Founder's Awards at 7 pm in our library.  This event honors staff members and community members for their excellent service to the WCI community.  Everyone is welcome and we hope you can attend this evening.

Tomorrow evening at 7 pm in the WCI gym there is a meeting for parents who have an incoming sixth grade student.  The presentation will be given by teachers and administrators and last around an hour.

Please read the e-news carefully in the fourth quarter since there are a variety of events that are happening at the end of the school year.

Please join us tonight at 7:00pm in the Library for our Annual Founder's Day Celebration!  All are welcome to attend.  We will be honoring a great group of volunteers and staff members who truly make WCI a special place!  Thank you so much to Aimee Moss, our PTA Historian, for putting together this great evening for us. 

Our final PTA meeting of this school year will be on Wednesday, May 20th, at 9:30am. Click here to see the agenda.  Please join us at 9:00am for coffee and treats and then for the meeting at 9:30.  All parents of incoming 6th graders are invited to attend as well.

Come join the fun and support your education foundation at the same time! Enjoy a social hour and hors d'ouevres starting at 6:30 p.m. Listen to amazing music provided by our own Las Lomas High School jazz students, and take in some incredible student artwork that will be on display.

 

A catered buffet dinner will follow and an awards ceremony to honor some of those who have supported WCEF throughout its 32-year history will take place. There will be a few premiere silent auction and raffle items to bid on as well.

WCI Honorary Service Awards

The WCI PTA invites the Walnut Creek Intermediate community to join us for the annual Founder's Day Celebration and Evening of Thanks on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 pm in the WCI Library. Congratulations to the following 2015 Honorary Service Award recipients! 8th Grade Activities
There will be lots more information to come, but here are some save the dates for your 8th grader.  There are lots of really fun activities coming up for the 8th graders, calendar them so your 8th grader does not miss out!

CIVIL WAR DAY- May 29th 8:30am-12:30pm
8th GRADE PARTY- June 5th 6:00pm-8:30pm
8th GRADE PICNIC- June 9th  All School Day
8th GRADE GRADUATION- June 11th 5:30pm
8th Grade Panoramic Picture
The 8th Grade Panoramic Picture will be taken on April 23rd.  Purchase your photo now (all 8th graders received a flyer this week in History class, and there are more in the Attendance Office if needed).  If you would like to purchase a panoramic picture, the flyer must be filled out and be accompanied by cash, money order, or check payable to Walnut Creek Intermediate (and turned into the Attendance Office by April 17th).   Cost of the photo is $22, or $42 for a framed photo.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Miller at samiller@wcsd.k12.ca.us
6th Grade Students TDAP Requirements

 

All 6th grade students will need to show proof of having received Tdap (pertussis) vaccination after the age of seven before they enter seventh grade.  We are now starting to collect this information from all 6th grade students. We are asking all 6th families to provide written verification of Tdap as soon as possible.

 

Proof of vaccination may be submitted by:

In person to WCI Office Manager Earlene Caven (Main Office)

Faxed to (925) 933-1922

Scanned and e-mailed to ecaven@wcsd.k12.ca.us

 

If you have questions about Tdap, you can contact our district nurse, Oonagh McAndrew RN, at omcandrew@wcsd.k12.ca.us or (925) 944-6850 x 2013.

The WCI PTA publishes the eNewsletter every Wednesday. Our goal is to provide information to the WCI community in a timely manner. If you have an article to contribute email it to Susan Heitmann at wcienews@yahoo.com. Please limit articles to 150 words or less. The deadline is every Sunday at 6pm.

For community announcements (non WCI specific submissions) please review the community section guidelines for approval by the Walnut Creek School District.
