Principal's Message
I hope everyone had a restful spring break and ready to finish strong in the fourth quarter.

Next week, state testing will begin for 8th grade students only.  Please make sure your child gets a good night a rest and a good breakfast to prepare them for testing.  This week we will be talking to classes to let them know exactly where they will be reporting for testing.  Seventh graders will follow the week of April 20th and sixth grade testing will be the week of April 27th.

Thanks you, have a wonderful week.

President's Message
The final quarter of the year is upon us!  I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have volunteered at WCI this year.  Whether it be in the library or chaperoning a dance, the parent and community involvement here at WCI help to make it the great place that it is for our students.  And, don't worry, during these last couple of months of school, there will be plenty more opportunities to help out!  Keep reading your weekly enews to learn more about events coming up at WCI.

On Wednesday, April 22nd, we will be hosting our annual Founder's Night Celebration in the Library.  Please mark your calendar and stop by to say "thank you" to the very special people being honored this year.

Creek Kids Care
The WCI branch of Creek Kids Care will meet on April 15 at 8:30 am in room 305 (Ms. Stewart's classroom).  All WCI kids are encouraged to participate in this fun and worthwhile club.  Creek Kids Care is a local nonprofit of kids and teens working together to benefit the Trinity Center (serving our local homeless community) and the Mother of Peace orphanage in Zimbabwe.  Details about the organization can be found at www.creekkids.org.  In addition to the April 15 meeting, the club will meet on these dates:  May 13, and June 3. If you have questions, please contact Elizabeth McCormick at oneadamtwelve@me.com.
Boxtops for Education
What about an Easter basket filled with box top coupons?  Well, don't think the kids would like that!  An alternative? Over the Spring break, please collect all those "goodies" so that the box top receptacle in the library will be overflowing, not with candy and eggs, but with lots of those SMALL box top coupons .  A low calorie Easter treat = more money for our library!  As always, Anne Woods at shepwoods@comcast.net thanks everyone for their continuing support on behalf of the WCI library.  Enjoy the Spring break!
8th Grade Panoramic Picture
The 8th Grade Panoramic Picture will be taken on April 23rd.  Purchase your photo now (all 8th graders received a flyer this week in History class, and there are more in the Attendance Office if needed).  If you would like to purchase a panoramic picture, the flyer must be filled out and be accompanied by cash, money order, or check payable to Walnut Creek Intermediate (and turned into the Attendance Office by April 17th).   Cost of the photo is $22, or $42 for a framed photo.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Miller at samiller@wcsd.k12.ca.us
