Principal's Message
This Wednesday evening we have our Japan Day parent training at 7 pm in our library.  Thank you parents for all your volunteer efforts in making these type of special days at school possible.

This Thursday evening in our library at 7 pm is an informational meeting with our superintendent, Dr. Patty Wool, and the explanation of ROPES.  ROPES is a community service project students can participate in individually or as a group.  If you would like to learn all of the details about ROPES please come and see the presentation.

Remember that this Monday, January 19th, there is no school for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Have a safe three day weekend.

GOT ROPES? Calling all 5th, 7th and 8th grade students.

You are invited to participate in the WCSD ROPES project. ROPES stands for Rite of Passage Experience and is an optional enrichment activity for students. ROPES give our 5th, 7th, and 8th graders opportunities to demonstrate academic achievements in a real-life setting. Participants select challenges from the ROPES Challenge Booklet. Each challenge gives students a chance to demonstrate thinking and creativity, and each can be done individually or with a partner(s).

ROPES information night: Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the WCI Library. Questions, please call 944-6850 ext. 2003. This program is supported by your donation to WCEF.

Walnut Blvd Safety Trail
Hello parents! One year ago Lucia Clymer was struck by a truck while walking home along Walnut Blvd (between Homestead Ave. and Sierra Dr.). She was badly injured and we are trying to prevent further injuries or fatalities. Hundreds of kids walk this stretch to school, and hundreds more are driven to school along this stretch. We need your help to build a kid's safety trail to improve safety for pedestrians AND drivers.
