Principal's Message
I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving with family and friends.  We hope all students are energized for the next three weeks before Winter Break and with many activities happening on campus.  Please make sure to read the e-news carefully since there are many events coming up.

There is large accumulation of lost and found items in our cafeteria.  This week items will be out on the stage during lunches and a donation will be made after school this Friday.  Please remind your child to check the stage since there are a lot of nice items.

Have a wonderful week.

Mike Cannon
President's Message
I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving break last week!  Thank you so much to Greg Sasser for leading our final PTA meeting of 2014 a couple of weeks ago.  I also wanted to again thank everyone who attended our PTA Wild West Social a few weeks back.  It was a fun-filled evening thanks to the fabulous committee of parent volunteers who put it all together - Liz Schleth, Lisa Royere, Ellen Schuler, Nancy Martinucci, and Hillary Amescua.

PTA takes a break in December - no meetings; but please continue to read your weekly enews for information about important events coming up in 2015 - Japan Day (7th grade), 8th Grade Graduation Activities Planning, Executive Board Nominating Committee and much more!

Have a great week.

Julie Gibson
Notes from the Nurse
Dear Parents

Vision screening for 6th graders has just been completed.  I noticed that a number of students who have glasses did not have them at school on the days that I screened.  If your child has glasses please encourage them to wear them at school. It's so much easier to learn when you can SEE what you are learning! Also please have the kids put their name and phone number on their glass case so that, in the event that they are lost, the glasses can easily be returned to their rightful owner.  Thank you!

Attention 7th Grade Parents
Mark your calendars!  The annual Japan Day Core Activity for all 7th grade core classes will be on January 22, 2015.  This is a fun day for everyone, but we need many parent volunteers to make this event a success!  Volunteers will assist students at one of four stations in their core class making origami, sushi rolling, brush painting and scroll making.  Click here to view volunteer sign-up information. There is also a required parent volunteer training night on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 7:00pm in the Library.  If you have any questions, please contact Ellen Schuler at schulerellen@gmail.com
