Principal's Message | Thank you to everyone who supported our magazine fundraiser this year. We appreciate the work students and parents put into it to make the fundraiser a success.
This Friday is our first 7th/8th grade dance. This dance is immediately after school in the gym from 3:15 - 5:00 pm. All students will be released as soon as the dance is over so please make sure to be on time to pick them up. It is OK for students to walk or bike home after the dance. If you would like to volunteer to assist with snacks, backpack check, etc., please contact Leah Dubinsky at ldubinsky@wcsd.k12.ca.us.
Have a fantastic week.

President's Message
|
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our WCSD Candidate Forum last night. We hope it was helpful and informative. Thank you so much to Greg Sasser and Nancy Martinucci for their help in organizing this event. I also want to say a special thank you to Rosalind Boukis. Rosalind is a former WCI parent who every year coordinates the selling and distribution of supply bags at Tri-S registration day. The proceeds from the sale of these bags goes to WCEF and this year Rosalind worked hard and sold more bags than ever before. She is a true example of the wonderful community members we have here in Walnut Creek. Thank you Rosalind! Please join us for our PTA meeting next Wednesday, October 15th, at 7:00pm in the Library. Click here to see the agenda. All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you there. As always, if you have any questions or I can be of any help to you, please don't hesitate to contact me at jagibson@astound.net.

Boxtops for Education
|
A big welcome to the sixth grade students and their parents! Now that your child is at WCI, you may be wondering what to do with all those Box Top coupons. Please keep collecting them, and just have your child drop them off in the library. There is a Box Top receptacle on the counter just waiting to be filled! All the monies earned buys new books for our wonderful library - what a great way to start another school year! There will be another Box Top contest with Target gift cards for the three students who turn in the most box top coupons! The contest will run from Monday, September 15, through Friday, October 24. The contest rules will be posted in the library next to the Box Top receptacle. Our goal is to collect LOTS of box top coupons - and we can do that with your help! If there are any questions, please contact Anne at shepwoods@comcast.net. And, of course, a big thank you to all the students (and their parents!) for their continuing support on behalf of the WCI library.
