Principal's Message
I hope everyone had a great start to the year and a wonderful first day of school.

Tonight we will be having our first PTA meeting of the year starting at 7 pm. Please come and join us, especially if you are new to WCI, to hear about how PTA is supporting students.

As a reminder, there is no school this Monday, September 1st, in observance of Labor Day.  Have a restful and safe three day weekend.

Mike Cannon
President's Message
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at WCI.  As you and your students settle in to the school routine, please make sure you read your weekly Enews to find out all that is happening around WCI.

Last Wednesday we had over 60 volunteers show up to help get all of our students registered at Tri-S day.  Thank you so much to all of you for helping to make this one of the best Tri-S days in years!  Special thanks go to Lisa Wendt, Cathy Mauger, and Ellen Schuler for spending countless hours planning over the summer for this day where we saw over 800 families register for school.

WCI has a very active PTA and our first meeting is tonight at 7:00pm in the Library.  We will be presenting our proposed budget for the year and hearing from administrators about the first day of school. Click here to see the agenda.  We hope to see you there!

Have a great first week, everyone!

Welcome to the 2014-2015 School Year!

Welcome back to our returning families and a special welcome to all our new families K-12. Since 2005, the Walnut Creek Education Foundation has been supporting the six schools in the WCSD and Las Lomas High School. This year we have committed $712,500 to over 5,000 students. DONATE NOW!

We are grateful to our parents, community and businesses that support WCEF through their donations and their volunteer efforts. Our children benefit from one of the best public educations in the state and that is made possible because of the commitment to education that is shared by all in our community. Thank you!

Tri-S Thank You
I wanted to thank all the Tri-S volunteers who worked so hard last Wednesday.   There are too many to list (about 65), but you were all great and your help is sincerely appreciated.  Your help made this event run smoothly and efficiently.   I also wanted to thank my committee members Julie Gibson, Ellen Schuler, and Lisa Wendt.  They worked long and hard to make sure Tri-S ran smoothly and efficiently.  Thanks to everyone for making event run so well!

Sincerely, Cathy Mauger

Girl Scouts
Does your daughter like crafts, learning new skills, camping, singing goofy songs, trying a new experience, doing things for her community or the world at large and just being with other girls her age? If you answered yes to any of those then your daughter might like to be a Girl Scout. If you are interested in learning more about being a part of Girl Scouts here in Walnut Creek look for the Girl Scouts' table at WCI's Welcome Back Day or contact Stacy Scanlon.
