Principal's Message
This evening at 7 pm in the Las Lomas gym, all students throughout the district in elementary and middle school who are involved in the band program will be performing.  This a great opportunity to see how students progress over the years musically.  It is also a wonderful time to see first hand the support WCEF gives to students who play an instrument.

Next Tuesday, May 27th, WCI will have our annual Open House from 6 - 7:45 pm.  We hope you will be able to come, it is an open program where you can drop into classrooms and see the work students have done.

Have a safe and relaxing Memorial Day weekend.

President's Message
As I mentioned last week, I am using the final few President's Messages to thank some of the many wonderful volunteers at WCI.  This week's honorees are Heidi Killoran and Deanna Beasley.  For three years these ladies have provided incredible lunches, snacks, and treats for the staff at WCI.  Their Back To School Staff lunches have become legendary!  And their treats during staff appreciation week and throughout the year always get rave reviews!.  Thank you so much Heidi and Deanna for all of your hard work over the years.  We will miss you as your kids move on to high school.

As you read below about the great end-of-year social studies events that are going on for our students - Civil War Day, Byzantine Bazaar, and Greco-Roman Day -please remember that the funding for these and so many other great things at WCI is provided through your donations to WCEF.  Thank you so much to all of the wonderful parents who give what they can to WCEF and our PTA.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

WCEF's 2014-2015 Annual Giving Campaign is Underway!

Donate Today! Don't wait until TRI-S/Welcome Back Days

Look for your Annual Giving Campaign Brochure in the mail this week and make your2014-2015 annual WCEF donation today - either by using the envelope in the mailer, or online. You can also drop off your donation with WCEF Volunteers at WCEF Donation Days: Elementary Schools - May 28 & 29 before and after school or at Open House May 29; WCI - May 23 & 27 before and after school or at Open House May 27.

Give what you can. Help safeguard academic opportunities for all our students K-12. All our children benefit from any donation your family is able to make and remember you can spread your payments out or consider becoming a Sustaining Donor.

WCEF makes an annual funding commitment to the school districts in the spring for the coming school year. We have to continue fundraising activities until that commitment is met. The longer we have to fundraise, the more volunteer time and financial resources are required. The sooner we know the commitment is met, the better for everyone, especially our children. Together, we step up to provide our students with the opportunities that make a difference in their daily school lives while giving them advantages that will last a lifetime.

Visit the campaign website for complete information. Thank you for your continued support of WCEF!
