Principal's Message
WCI PTA will be meeting tonight at 7 pm tonight in the library.  The meeting will begin with Matt Campbell, Las Lomas Principal, giving an overview and answering any questions about the 8th grade transition to high school.  We hope you can join us.

Next week the WCI book fair will be happening in the library all week.  Please look for all of the details in this week's e-news.

Also, congratulations to the 8th grade boys basketball team for winning the league championship. They gave a tremendous effort and will be remembered for being undefeated in both 7th and 8th grade.  Congratulations to all the players and coaches.

Have a great week.

Anti-Bullying Campaign

ANTI-BULLYING SPEAK OUT CAMPAIGN

GIRL SCOUT TROOP 30725

Be a buddy not a bully. We are Girl Scout troop 30725 and we ask for you to join us in our effort to speak out against bullying. When we stand together we are stronger than when we stand alone.

Bullying can be verbal, physical or social bullying which involves hurting someone's reputation or relationships and includes leaving someone out on purpose, telling other people not to be friends with someone, spreading rumors or embarrassing someone in front of others.

If you are being bullied or if you witness someone being bullied,  you have the power to do something to help! Don't Stand by, Stand Up! You can tell the bully to stop, chill out, walk away, you can tell a friend, a teacher, stop by the counselors' office or tell another adult so they can listen and respond.

Take a stand, lend a hand!

Boxtops for Education
The box top receptacle in the library needs to be filled with those box top coupons!  Let's spring into action, round up those little coupons and have your child drop them off in the library.  It would be great to have a full box before Spring break next month.  More box top coupons = more money for our wonderful library!  Anne Woods at shepwoods@comcast.net thanks everyone for their continuing support on behalf of the library.
6th Grade Tdap Requirements
All 6thgrade students will need to show proof of having received Tdap (pertussis) vaccination after the age of seven before they enter seventh grade.  We are now starting to collect this information from all 6th grade students. We are asking all 6th grade families to provide written verification of Tdap as soon as possible.

Proof of vaccination may be submitted by:

In person to WCI Office Manager Earlene Caven (Main Office)

Faxed to (925) 933-1922

Scanned and e-mailed to ecaven@wcsd.k12.ca.us

If you have questions about Tdap, you can contact our district nurse, Oonagh McAndrew RN, at omcandrew@wcsd.k12.ca.us or (925) 944-6850 x 2013.
