Meet Michael Hopkins from TEAM-Camarillo.   


How long have you been with FSS? 
"I have been with FSS since I was a spry 25-year-old. For those doing the math, I''ll admit that makes 19 years next month!"

What do you enjoy most about your job at FSS?   
"One of my favorite projects is figuring out inventory control, which can be extremely challenging when we shuffle products between our 20 stores. It's not just about ordering from vendors and bringing product to a store; it also involves moving products around to and from different locations, trying to figure out which store needs more or less of which products to meet the needs of our customers. Also, I am grateful to have learned a lot about business -- and life -- by working directly with the owners of FSS for so many years."
   

What are your interests outside the workplace?   
"My leisure time used to be spent traveling around the West Coast of the USA (mostly Lake Powell) with my friends, jamming on guitar and bass, staying up late watching bad movies when I should be sleeping, and burning the candle at both ends. But, three years ago, my wife and I welcomed two young children, JJ and Imani, (now 8 and 10 years old, respectively), into our lives. So that put a halt to much of my previous lifestyle of shenanigans and debauchery!  Now, our lives are full of baseball games, homework, birthday parties, scooter riding, Disney movies, never-ending laundry, and being an all-around monkey and chauffeur for the kids. It has changed me, hopefully for the better (and by better, I mean turning my hair grey!) And we can't forget about our furry family, Abby, Pumpkin and Max!"
