GET YOUR VOLUNTEER CARDS
State law requires each volunteer at Great Hearts schools to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check.
You must have a volunteer badge in order to volunteer on campus or to chaperone field trips. Without a proper badge, you will not be admitted on campus. If you have not obtained a badge yet, please do so now because it remains active for 3 years. Also, this Fall, new Great Hearts families will be going through the process so it may take longer (it generally takes a few weeks for your card to be printed). We ask parents for a $20 donation. This covers the cost of the fingerprinting.

We have scheduled a
Fingerprinting Event at Cicero on:
MONDAY, MAY 18, 1:30PM-3:30PM
Please pop in any time during that period,
it doesn't take long to complete

We strongly encourage you to attend this event on our Cicero campus because it's more convenient than driving to the Veritas campus. If you can't make it though, you can make an appointment at the Veritas campus anytime prior to June 15th. Contact the Great Hearts Human Resources office at [email protected] or call 602-438-7045, ext. 7. Thank you!

UNIFORM THANK YOU!
Thank you for all of your uniform donations. We're building a great supply that will be sold back to our families, but we can certainly use more!

Things to remember:
  • The donation box remains in the office - please drop off your used uniforms during regular office hours between now and the last day of school.
  • The donation box in the office will be available for drop off May 26-29 from 8am-noon.
There have been a few requests for a uniform sale in mid-summer. We will try to coordinate that with school office hours during that time. Watch your email for more information. Direct any used uniform questions to Randi Garfield at [email protected].
MISSING SOMETHING?
CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND

The Lost and Found bin is overflowing! If your students have lost a sweatshirt, lunch bag or water bottle, please check the lost and found (located outside the multi-purpose room). Even if the item wasn't there previously, it might have shown up by now so please double check.

STILL NEED A YEARBOOK?
DID YOU FORGET TO ORDER ONE?
We're checking into the possibility of ordering more yearbooks for the parents who forgot to order them by the deadline. If we get enough parents, we may be able to place another order. Please contact Jen Howe at [email protected] if you're interested. If you did order a yearbook a while back, they will not be delivered until closer to the last week of school.

AMAZON WISH LISTS

A HUGE thank you to all families who have already purchased items from our schools' Amazon wish lists.  The impact of your generosity on our teachers is so great!  I have to share with you their excitement when asked to pick up their goodies from the front office.  These lists contribute to the classroom in ways that enhance our student's learning experience.  For example, the Archway music teacher uses hand puppets to keep the children engaged.  All eyes are focused on her so the music lesson is memorable and enjoyable.  And in Mr. Milford's Prep science class, student learning is greatly enhanced with the addition of 6 new microscopes, petri dishes and a super cool dissecting kit, all compliments of parents who made purchases from the Amazon wish list.

NEW!!!

Since so many families have requested this, each school's Amazon wish list now includes items for the Founding Families Fund. These include chess sets for the library, books, park benches, podiums, ideas for bleachers, scoreboards, artificial grass in the quad and more.  Please use the Amazon Associates link so Cicero will earn 3% from all your purchases. Click on the Amazon logo on each school's website to check it out today!  Thank you for your generous support.

Every donor will receive an acknowledgement, thank you letter and tax receipt. All gifts will also be labeled with the donor's name. Here is the link: Archway Cicero Amazon Link. You should see the teachers' names along the left side of the page. Questions?

Please contact Angela Braun, Directory of Academy Giving at 480.271.3508 or [email protected]
PRACTICAL JOKES
THEY GOT YOU GOOD MR. PATTISON!
It's not all serious - Cicero teachers and staff have fun too by playing practical jokes on each other. Last Friday, Mr. Pattison arrived at school to find his desk was missing. He finally found it - on the elevator! Poor Mr. Pattison!
