Cicero 6th graders (and a couple of enterprising 7th graders) showcased their science projects at Cicero Prep's first-ever science fair! Students had many interesting projects on display. Some had taken months to put together. Judges graded the projects and gave accolades to the projects that stood out the most.

The Social will take place in the Cicero Gymnasium. A D.J. will be there playing music and several activities will be planned to give our students the opportunity to mingle with their peers and enjoy a fun evening together. The social will be planned with the help of some of our Prep students. A sign-up will be posted by Mr. Philabaum's office starting Monday for any students who would like to be on the planning committee. If we get too many offers for assistance, names will be drawn from a hat for the planning committee and all others can contribute by decorating the gym, bringing refreshments, etc. Meetings will be held two days a week during Prep lunch time so students can eat AND participate with their ideas. GREAT HEARTS ART WALK
WE NEED HANDY PARENTS!
YOU CAN HELP WITH THIS PROJECT
ON YOUR OWN SCHEDULE

Cicero is preparing for the traditional "Great Hearts Art Walk." It will take place on May 1st from 5:30pm-7pm. We will be transforming the campus halls into a giant Art Gallery, displaying the best artwork of each of our scholars.  Families will be invited to the Art Walk to enjoy the gallery and awards will be given to some of the scholars.

PLEASE help if you're handy! This is a project you can do on your own schedule. Parents are needed to help create several framed panels that will be constructed from 4'x8' foam core and particle board frames from Home Depot.  Once you attend a brief meeting concerning the assembly of these panels, you can make them on your own time at home.

Ms. Thurbon also needs help setting up for the Art Walk on April 30th.

Here's the link to sign-up for either of these volunteer positions: VolunteerSpot

Please contact Ms. Thurbon at Lthurbon@archwaycicero.org if you have any questions.

NEEDED: LUNCH VOLUNTEERS

Parents: We'll continue to need your help in order to keep the lunch program going.

You can now sign up for a one-hour shift: either 10:15AM-11:25AM (Prep, K and 1st grades) OR 11:20AM-12:25PM (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades). Please click on this link to sign-up: http://vols.pt/2W8bDP. It's easy! Just simply enter your email address and pick your spot. You are not locked into this spot every month, just that one time. Maybe you could use your work lunch break once per month or perhaps a grandparent can volunteer? If you still need to get your volunteer card, call Great Hearts Human Resources at 602-438-7045, ext. 7. The card is good for 3 years.

AMAZON WISH LISTS

A HUGE thank you to all families who have already purchased items from our schools' Amazon wish lists.  The impact of your generosity on our teachers is so great!  I have to share with you their excitement when asked to pick up their goodies from the front office.  These lists contribute to the classroom in ways that enhance our student's learning experience.  For example, the Archway music teacher uses hand puppets to keep the children engaged.  All eyes are focused on her so the music lesson is memorable and enjoyable.  And in Mr. Milford's Prep science class, student learning is greatly enhanced with the addition of 6 new microscopes, petri dishes and a super cool dissecting kit, all compliments of parents who made purchases from the Amazon wish list.

NEW!!!

Since so many families have requested this, each school's Amazon wish list now includes items for the Founding Families Campaign. These include chess sets for the library, books, park benches, podiums, ideas for bleachers, scoreboards, artificial grass in the quad and more.

Please use the Amazon Associates link so Cicero will earn 3% from all your purchases. Click on the Amazon logo on each school's website to check it out today!  Thank you for your generous support.

Every donor will receive an acknowledgement, thank you letter and tax receipt. All gifts will also be labeled with the donor's name.

Questions?

Please contact Angela Braun, Director of Academy Giving, at 480.271.3508 or ABraun@CiceroPrep.org.

FOUNDING FAMILIES CAMPAIGN

You have this once in a lifetime opportunity to become a Cicero founding family.  Won't you help us complete our campus home?  There are giving areas and naming opportunities at varying levels for everyone to participate in and be a part of this campaign.

Our goal is to raise $442,500 - keep your eye on the thermometer on our school websites.

So far our families have donated over $175,000.  We are roughly $265,000 away from our goal.  Please make your gift today - Together, we can do it!!

Founding Families Campaign Donor Testimonial:

"I am happy to contribute to Cicero's Founding Families Campaign because I recognize the value of the type of education my daughter is receiving. Growing up, I was the lucky beneficiary of an entirely private education from kindergarten through 12th grade. I can honestly say that the my daughter is being just as well educated at Cicero Prep as I had been at the elite, private school I attended in 6th grade. If I were to enroll her in the school I went to, I would be spending $28,600 for tuition, and not one dime would be tax deductible. I understand that it takes a lot to run and maintain a school of Cicero's caliber, so I am contributing what I can to the Founding Families Campaign, in addition to Community Investment, in appreciation for the fine education Cicero is offering us."
