SECOND SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - ՀՈԳԵԳԱԼՈՒՍՏԷՆ ԵՏՔ ԵՐԿՐՈՐԴ ԿԻՐԱԿԻ
FEAST OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OF HOLY ETCHMIADZIN
ՏՕՆ ԿԱԹՈՒՂԻԿԷ ԵԿԵՂԵՑՒՈՅ Ս. ԷՋՄԻԱԾՆԻ
The reading is from the Letter to the Hebrews 9:1-10
Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary. For a tent was prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the bread of the Presence; it is called the Holy Place. Behind the second curtain stood a tent called the Holy of Holies, having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, which contained a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.
These preparations having thus been made, the priests go continually into the outer tent, performing their ritual duties; but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the errors of the people. By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the sanctuary is not yet opened as long as the outer tent is still standing (which is symbolic for the present age). According to this arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper, but deal only with food and drink and various ablutions, regulations for the body imposed until the time of reformation.

It was the feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem; it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered round him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness to me; but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

Յիսուս պատասխանեց. �Արդէն իսկ ձեզի ըսած եմ, սակայն չէք հաւատար։ Այն գործերը որ Հօրս անունով կը կատարեմ, անոնք իսկ կը վկայեն՝ թէ ո՛վ եմ ես։ Բայց դուք չէք հաւատար, որովհետեւ իմ ոչխարներէս չէք։ Ես ոչխարներս կը ճանչնամ. անոնք ձայնս կը լսեն եւ կը հետեւին ինծի, ու ես անոնց յաւիտենական կեանք կու տամ, բնաւ պիտի չմեռնին։ Ո՛չ ոք պիտի կարենայ զանոնք յափշտակել իմ ձեռքէս։ Հայրս այդ ոչխարները ինծի տուաւ, եւ ոչ ոք կրնայ յափշտակել զանոնք իմ Հօրս ձեռքէն, որովհետեւ Հայրս բոլորէն աւելի մեծ է։ Ես եւ Հայրս մէկ ենք�։

Our Sunday School held their last classes for the year on Sunday, May 22, 2016. After brief class time, students played games and enjoyed food and camaradery in the Terhanian Hall.
We thank all our volunteer staff and specially parents for yet another wonderful year.

Haigazian School End-of-Year Party
The Haigazian School held its End-of-Year Party after church on Sunday, May 22nd in the Founder's Hall. A lule kebab lunch was prepared and donated by members of the ARS Artemis Chapter for students, parents, teachers and the community at large. Three lovely gift baskets were crafted and donated by Ungh. Ani Semerjian and raffled off.
The Haigazian students prepared a short, but very enjoyable, presentation to the community. This was followed by a beautiful dessert table, with sweet delicacies and fruits donated by the Haigazian School parents and teachers.
The Haigazian School Board would like to thank everyone who attended, participated in and donated to this event. The day would not have been successful without your support.

DERMENJIAN SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
We would like to notify our parishioners that, the Dick and Rose Dermenjian Scholarship committee is accepting applications for the 2016 Fall Semester. The deadline for the application is June 20, 2016.
If you have a college bound child take advantage of this offer and take action immediately. Or if you do not have college age children, spread the news within Armenian community. The applicants should be of Armenian decent or half Armenian. Should be a full time student in a 4 year college and should have a minimum of 3 GPA.
