FIRST YEAR WITH OUR HOLY MARTYRS OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
- 101 YEARS PAIN OF DENIAL -
This is the year Armenians worldwide were hoping to savor justice and that the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide would be punished by the world family of nations. But not only the denial continues by the perpetrator Turkish government but, as we witnessed at the beginning of this month, they encouraged their cronies, the Azeries, to emulate them in Nagorno Karabagh.
We will continue reminding the world of the facts of the Armenian Genocide whenever the opportunity arises.
Coincidentally we were able to display the icon of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide in our sanctuary as a permanent reminder to us all and as a source of blessing. We now have a relic on our side altar and an icon on our right wall warming our hearts and filling our universe.
I would like to thank Noubar Yeremian for spearheading the project of hanging this enormous icon (98" x 56") with the help of Raffik Stepanian, Hagop Handian and Danny Babaian.

A Vigil Night at USCience
On Tuesday, April 19, the Armenian Students' Association of University of Science of Philadelphia held a commemorative candlelight vigil recognizing the victims of the Armenian Genocide. To this vigil were invited Very Rev. Oshagan Gulgulian and Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian who offered special prayers.

The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) has selected the award-winning "Orphans of the Genocide" documentary by Bared Maronian for national PBS station. It will be aired on April 24, 2016. Check your local listing for the time.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. JOHN Chapter 7:14-24
About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught. The Jews marveled at it, saying, "How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?" So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me; if any man's will is to do his will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. Did not Moses give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?" The people answered, "You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?" Jesus answered them, "I did one deed, and you all marvel at it. Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man upon the sabbath. If on the sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the sabbath I made a man's whole body well? Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

Տաղաւարահաց տօնակատարութեան մօտաւորապէս կէսին, Յիսուս տաճար ելաւ եւ սկսաւ ուսուցանել։ Հրեաները կը զարմանային եւ կ՚ըսէին, �Ինչպէ՞ս այս մարդը Սուրբ Գիրքերը գիտէ, երբ բնաւ չէ ուսած զանոնք�։ Յիսուս պատասխանեց անոնց. �Ինչ որ ձեզի կ՚ուսուցանեմ՝ իմ վարդապետութիւնս չէ, այլ անորը՝ որ զիս ղրկեց։ Ով որ կ՚ուզէ Աստուծոյ կամքը կատարել, պիտի հասկնայ թէ Աստուծմէ՞ է այս վարդապետութիւնը, թէ ես ի՛մ հեղինակութեամբս կը խօսիմ։ Ան որ իր հեղինակութեամբ կը խօսի՝ իր անձին համար փառքը կը փնտռէ, իսկ ան որ զինք ղրկողին փառքը կը փնտռէ, ճշմարիտ է եւ խաբէութիւն չկայ անոր մէջ։ Մովսէս ձեզի Օրէնքը չտուա՞ւ. սակայն ձեզմէ ոչ ոք կը հնազանդի Օրէնքին։ Ինչո՞ւ կ՚ուզէք զիս սպաննել�։ Ժողովուրդը պատասխանեց. �Դիւահա՞ր ես, ի՞նչ ես. ո՞վ կ՚ուզէ քեզ սպաննել�։ Յիսուս պատասխանեց. �Հրաշք մը գործեցի եւ բոլորդ վրդովեր էք։ Մովսէս հրահանգեց թլփատել ձեր զաւակները - թէեւ Մովսէս չէր սկսողը, այլ ձեր նախահայրերը - եւ դուք ձեր զաւակները կը թլփատէք Շաբաթ օրով։ Եթէ մէկը կը թլփատէք Շաբաթ օրով, որպէսզի չբեկանուի Մովսէսի Օրէնքը, ինչո՞ւ զայրացած էք ինծի դէմ, որովհետեւ մէկը ամբողջութեամբ բժշկեցի Շաբաթ օրով։ Երեւոյթներէն մի՛ դատէք, այլ արդար դատաստան կատարեցէք�։
