Grants for Excellence Applications

Hortonville Area School District (HASD) is looking to fund innovative classroom projects that enhance student learning! The Grants for Excellence program allows HASD teachers to apply for additional funding and encourages innovative teaching that will directly benefit our students. Grants awarded may range up to $5,000 and can be used for special materials, expert services, and other resources the project requires.

HASD to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for
New School on October 30,2013

 

Hortonville Area School District will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest school being added to the district, North Greenville Elementary School, on October 30th at 9am at the school site on County Road JJ in Greenville.

 

Last spring, Hortonville Area School District residents voted and approved $25,455,000 for five building projects, one of which was building a new K-4 building on the JJ site previously purchased by the district. North Greenville Elementary is expected to be open for the 2014-2015 school year. Read more...

HHS Partners with Local Farm to Implement
Farm to School Program  

 

Recently, Hortonville High School implemented a Farm to School Program in partnership with Foxglove Farms. Farm to School aims to connect local farms with schools to serve more healthful, locally produced foods to students; provide unique nutrition education opportunities; and improve Wisconsin's economy by developing new markets for farmers.

 

This past summer, Hortonville High School (HHS) planted two
4ft. x 20ft. garden beds that produced a nice supply of tomatoes, peppers, carrots, beets and zucchini. "The HHS Biology Department has been extremely involved in the gardening process with having planted a fall crop, and they will also take care of the gardening beds during the fall season," explained Bob Weix, HHS Physical Education teacher. Building a Peaceful Community

 

For there to be real peace in the world, teach peace. On Friday, September 20th, Greenville Elementary School (GES) students joined people from all around the world to celebrate peace. International Day of Peace, or "Peace Day" began in 1982 as an effort by the United Nations to devote a specific day and collaborative focus on worldwide peace to commemorate and strengthen the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and people.
