Hortonville Area School District Moving Forward on Approved Referendum Projects
On April 2, 2013, Hortonville Area School District (HASD) had district residents vote on two referendum questions. These two questions were:
- To approve $25,455,000 for five projects, which include a new K-4 elementary school on the district-owned County JJ property in Greenville, a new transportation facility on the County JJ property, renovations and remodeling at Hortonville High School (HHS), new classroom additions to Hortonville Middle School (HMS), and security upgrades at all HASD schools.
- To approve exceeding the revenue limit by $370,000 for utility costs and maintenance/custodial upkeep for the new elementary school and renovations and additions to HHS and HMS
After residents had finished casting their votes on the two questions, the results were that question #1 passed, and question #2 failed. Read more...

GMS Principal Bruce Carew Retires
While students in Hortonville Area School District are planning out what they'll be doing this summer, long-time HASD principal, Bruce Carew, will be entering retirement at the closing of the 2012-13 school year.
Mr. Carew grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Education at the University of Iowa, and later earned his Master's in Education Administration at the University of Illinois.
Mr. Carew started his time in HASD back in 1988 as the Hortonville High School (HHS) principal. He stayed in this position until 1992, when he then became principal at Hortonville Elementary and Greenville Elementary schools. In 2002, he took the principal's position at Greenville Middle School, which he has stayed in through this 2012-13 school year. Read more...

Big Decisions and Dreams for Hortonville High School Seniors
As the school year comes to an end, it is time for what all high school seniors are waiting for--graduation! The seniors at Hortonville High School have many plans, including attending 4-year colleges and universities, continuing their education at various Technical Colleges, joining the military, and well as going through apprenticeship programs and heading straight into the workforce.
When speaking with some of these graduating seniors, you can see that they have thought hard about what they want to do after graduation, and they have some big aspirations. Read more...
