A Long-Standing Legacy of Pride and Success
in the Hortonville Baseball Program  

 

While the Hortonville and Greenville communities are small in size, their widespread support for, and love to be involved in, Hortonville Area School District extra-curricular programs is very apparent. One such example is the baseball program with its great history and success over the years. 

For as long as anyone can remember, Hortonville has had a baseball team. Don Williams became involved with the Hortonville baseball program in the spring of 1975 as a JV coach. After five years at the JV level, he was given the opportunity to become varsity head coach, and has been in that position since. During Don's first year as head coach, Hortonville's baseball team earned its shot at competing in the state championship, which was the first time Hortonville had sent any team to a state tournament. Students Explore Innovation and Robotics Using Lego Mindstorms at Greenville Elementary School

   

In the beginning of the 2012-13 school year, Hortonville Area School District (HASD) teachers were busy not only getting back into the swing of things, but also writing grants in order to receive funding for classroom equipment to enhance student learning. Rochelle Eggebrecht, a Greenville Elementary School (GES) 4th grade teacher, wrote a Grant for Excellence where she received almost $4,000 for her project titled 'Innovating Engineering with Robotics.'

 

In Eggebrecht's grant proposal, she asked for 12 Lego Mindstorms and six engineering books to get her young students interested in working with robotics and engineering. Lego Mindstorms is a kit containing software and hardware that allows students to work in teams to create small, customizable and programmable robots. Read more...

HHS Associate Principal Dan Ohlmann Retires 

   

As the school year comes to an end, it also becomes the season to recognize those staff members retiring after serving the Hortonville Area School District. One such man is Dan Ohlmann, current Associate Principal at Hortonville High School (HHS). Read more...
