Referendum: A Look at Safety and Transportation
With the upcoming HASD referendum including multiple project proposals, the district wanted to ensure that each piece was explained to help the community understand why these are necessary items in continuing the success of Hortonville Area School District. Two of the areas being included in the referendum are updating safety/security of all existing buildings, and building a new transportation facility.
Beginning in Fall 2012, a district security committee began looking into safety and security needs. The team has been monitoring current safety procedures, and is working with a safety consultant to make recommendations to the School Board on improvements that need to be made for the future. HASD EXPO SPOTLIGHT:
HHS Human Anatomy and Physiology Testing Participants at Expo in April
Hortonville Area Schoo l District is excited for the Spotlight on Education Expo that will take place on April 11, 2013! As we get more and more proposals in, we can't help but give a "sneak peek" on some of the exciting projects that will be presented this year.
One group, the HHS Human Anatomy and Physiology class, will have a booth space at the Expo where students will test physiological parameters of Expo participants and visitors. Students will apply what they have been learning in class, which is conducting EKG, blood pressure, muscular fatigue, and lung capacity tests. Read more... |
AP Students Take May Exams to Earn Credit
Students in most of Hortonville High School's 13 Advanced Placement (AP) classes will finish one or more of the year-long and semester-long AP classes by taking one to five AP exams in May. College-bound students take these two to three-hour exams in hopes of earning high scores of 3, 4, or 5. High scores on one or more of these exams means the student will earn advanced standing or college credit (or both) in his/her chosen college degree program once they graduate high school.
