Space Needs Study Team Update

 

Did you know?

  • A computer lab has been eliminated to accommodate an additional classroom
  • Teachers are teaching from carts because of the lack of classroom space

These are just a few of the facts that show Hortonville Area School District's pressing need for more space in the district. To address these space concerns, HASD has put together a Space Needs Study Team. Professional Learning Community Journey
  
The Hortonville Area School District will be starting a new journey this year by changing its culture to becoming a Professional Learning Community. A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is a systematic approach to ensuring all students learn at the highest level through collaboration. Bus Safety is Our Priority

The HASD bus drivers have been hard at work even during the summer time. The drivers have been brushing up on their skills at the Fox Valley Technical College doing Mirror Training.

 

What is mirror training, you ask? Basically, the mirror training was set-up to refresh and enhance the drivers on how to properly adjust their mirrors so they are able to see around the entire bus. It was also designed to mirror common emergency situations, which can test a driver's abilities as well as a vehicle's capabilities. The drivers were able to get actual "hands-on" experience and be on a controlled road course at FVTC. The drivers improved their driving abilities by experiencing actual emergency situations on a safe driving range under the guidance of qualified staff. Drivers also experienced the vehicle's capabilities and safety features. Read more...
