Canned Food Drive        
December 3rd-17th
We will be participating in the annual Sandy High School-Kiwanis Canned Food Drive.  If you are a family who has the means to participate, please send in non-perishable canned food.  Your child's teacher will have a box for the canned food or you/your child can bring the food directly to the main office. 
We will be having a family movie night this month (check our website for the date and movie title).  Bring in two cans of food and receive a free item from the snack bar.
   
 
Warm Clothing Reminder
A friendly reminder to make sure your child/children leave home with a warm sweater, coat, gloves and a hat. The weather is getting cold and many students are coming to school without proper clothing for our cool weather. If you need help with clothing please contact our school. We have a small clothes closet onsite and we can get your child what he/she may need to stay warm.

 Join the PTA
Parent volunteers needed!
Come to our Christmas PTA gathering December 13th at 5pm at the Trout Pub in Sandy. PTA will purchase the first round of appetizers for parent and teacher attendees. We hope to see you there! 
Future PTA Meetings will be the second Tuesday of every month at 3:45pm at Firwood in the library. 
  
PTA Coffee Fundraiser
Firwood Elementary is partnering with Mt. Hood Roasters Coffee Company to sell great, local coffee.  12 ounce bags of coffee are being sold for $10.  Coffee makes great holiday gifts and stocking stuffers.  Order forms were sent home with your child/children on Friday.  Money raised will go to purchase technology and books for classrooms.

Friendly Requests

Please send a note in writing to the office to inform us of any transportation changes for your child/children and please try to avoid picking up your child early from school. Half of our school has reading instruction until 3:30pm. When students leave early it disrupts their learning and also their class. Also please do your best to make dentist and doctor appointments after school. Thank you.
