Brazos County Expo Quarterly Newsletter
Things are hopping here at the Brazos County Expo and Spring has only just begun! Since the beginning of January we have already hosted 12 outdoor events and 43 indoor events over 37 days!, As always, our goal is to help raise awareness of our events and give you a deeper look into what goes on behind the scenes at the Brazos Valley's Finest All Around Event Venue!
From our General Manager, Dr. Tom Quarles
We continue to be put to the test! The Diamonds & Dirt Barrel Horse Classic (DDBHC), promising to be the richest barrel race in the world, was the largest event ever held at the Expo. The Expo received world-wide coverage via live streaming over the internet and program coverage on HRTV! We had approximately 850 horses and over 4,000 barrel runs during the week-long event, with contestants representing 25 states and four countries.

Team Building Idea

Are you in need of a new team building activity for your associates? Tired of the ropes courses and the awkward games? Have you thought about diving into the culinary world? Let's cook up a plan.

In a recent article, The Team that Cooks Together, Works (Better) Together, Texas Meeting + Events, Uwe Muller, international chef and owner of Luxury of Red, discusses their specialty in culinary team building. Muller explains that clients do not have time to go away on a three- to six-day mission. He says they can accomplish the same thing quick, and it's less expensive. Culinary team building classes range from three to six hours. And, yes, they do produce results. The chef's job is to explain the recipes and be available to assist...no drill sergeant. Muller states that they keep it relaxed and even issue special aprons the participants can take home. At the end, each person gets to taste everybody's food, comment and perhaps enjoy a glass of wine. After all, now they're a team.
