What lights the spark that inspires us, to initiate something new, or act for the sake of what truly matters to us? Incidents of violence nationally as well as internationally have brought awareness of the challenges we face to the forefront of our lives. CTV's conference is an experience in the community that lights the spark that inspires and motivates us to act and move towards a more compassionate world.

Compassion in Action: What people are doing to cultivate a culture of compassion.

CommUniverCity is joining CTV as one of our participating organizations.  Their work is a wonderful example of an organization that engages in work that supports the vision of a harmonious, compassionate and nonviolence community.

Vibrant, healthy and engaged neighborhoods are being realized by community members and San Jose State University students coming together, through  CommUniverCity, to  accomplish goals that are neighborhood driven. The

Five Wounds Village
Five Wounds Community Comes Together

students learn and benefit by participating in "grass-roots" projects that can make a real impact.  The community residents learn about working with community leaders, governmental agencies and each other to see their goals realized.

Recently, community members of the Five Wounds neighborhood were dismayed that they were not included in a decision making process regarding plans for a mega-parking structure for the new BART extension in their neighborhood. CommUniverCity served as a trusted convener, bringing together a broad spectrum of community residents to explore a collective vision for their future. Learn more about the exciting outcome of this project.

Become a Participating Organization: Participating Organizations celebrate diversity, engage in the work that is in some way committed to supporting nonviolence, and share the vision of a harmonious community. If your organization would like to learn more about how to participate in our upcoming conference, please contact Shelley at [email protected]
