It is with great sadness that we share the news that Keela Marshall, one of our long time Healing Touch practitioners and instructors, recently passed away unexpectedly after dealing with health issues. Our sympathy goes to her family and many friends.

This study, published January 2016 in the Hospital Pediatrics Journal, examines Healing Touch consultations among children at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:
Components of complementary and alternative medicine are increasingly being implemented at academic medical centers. These approaches include therapeutic touch or healing touch (HT), an energy-based therapy using light touch on or near the body. Limited data exist regarding complementary and alternative medicine use at children's hospitals. The aim of this study was to evaluate patterns and clinical characteristics of HT consultations among children hospitalized at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.

A noteworthy article in Holistic Primary Care - News for Health and Healing talks about Cleveland Clinic's plan to double the size of its Center for Functional Medicine to meet huge patient demand. The center focuses on nutrition and natural therapeutics as treatment and currently has a waiting list of over 1,100 people since opening in 2014.

Plan for an exciting day with Ann Marie Chiasson, MD, MPH. She will speak about the the assemblage points, considered the most important points for healing in the Native American Yaqui tradition. In the morning our work will focus on two assemblage points important for healing - the lower assemblage point (for vitality akin to the 1st and 2nd chakras) and in the afternoon we will work with the heart assemblage point (for all illness located in the back of the 4th chakra). The day will be open for any questions or other topics that would like to be addressed.
