Letter from the HTP CEO
Dear Healing Touch Community,

Fall greetings everyone! Right now we are making final preparations for the 5th Annual Eastern Regional Conference and as the days get closer, we get more excited!  We love connecting with the Healing Touch community at conferences, it gives us the chance to experience precious moments together and the ability to learn and grow from each other. This year's Eastern Regional, in Albany New York, will focus on 'Trusting Our Inner Guidance' and will leave you feeling wholesome and recharged! If you haven't yet registered to attend, it's not too late! We're still accepting registrations and hope you have the chance to join us at this year's gathering.

We have just returned from Seattle, WA where we gathered with our Northwestern community. We have the great pleasure of being with Karen Drucker, Marie Manuchehri, Robbie Holz and Nancy Rebecca our awesome keynote speakers! Also we honor and congratulate those that received their HTCP pins at this conference. Please check out the photos on our Facebook album to share in the fun we had! We would love to hear your comments!

We have been getting many phone calls at the HTP office over the recent announcement from Healing Touch International (HTI) of their name change on October 3, 2013. Their new name is Healing Beyond Boarders (HBB). I am pleased that they have chosen to make this change, as it further removes them from my Mother Janet Mentgen's Healing Touch Program and helps to give clarity that there is truly only one curriculum and course of study.

At the HTP office we have been preparing for transfers of students and wish to encourage anyone that wants to move their classes over to our program to do so. Please check out the recently updated section of our website that supports student transfers.

We are in the final stages of application review for accreditation from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).  Everything has been submitted and we are eagerly awaiting approval. We will continue to provide updates as we have them. In the meantime, we are preparing our new certificate for the HTCP's to reflect the new accreditation as well as news press release to celebrate this huge accomplishment.

There are two newly released products in our store.  Just

out is the new Energy Magazine 2014 calendar. This calendar we choose to use our Healing Touch coreconcepts as the quotes with striking spiral images. The calendars will be ready to ship out the week of October 28. Please consider ordering these in bulk to give as holiday gifts.

Chakra Cards are the other new item. These were created to support ourregional conferences this year and we are sure you will agree that they are awesome client gifts. On one side of the card is a chakra reference and the other side is a colorful finger labyrinth.

That's it for now, but things are really happening so be sure to watch our Facebook page and watch your e-mail for more updates as they happen!

Live well, and Do the Work!

Blessings,

The 2014 Energy Magazine Calendar Is Here!

Twelve months of beautiful spiral images - Symbolically the spiral has been associated with the seasons, the cycle of life, learning and growing, and the cosmic force. Some consider the spiral a symbol of the spiritual journey, passing over the same point over and over again but with a different awareness each time. As such, we learn, grow and change as we progress on our spiritual path. Each month in this calendar includes a striking image as a reminder of this path along with a core concept expressed in Healing Touch.

Purchase your copy today for $10.50 (normally $12.00).

The calendar makes a wonderful gift! Order 10 or more for $6.00 each.

Orders can be placed through the Healing Touch Store.

(Calendars will ship the week of October 28th.)

Lovely Vacation by Ann Cathcart HTCP, HTWF Board Member

It's October and the leaves are showy and falling, heralding the new autumn season.  And I reminisce about my lovely stay in a Boathouse Cottage in Charlestown, Maryland last

summer.  This little cottage on the northeast feather of the Chesapeake Bay was my home for four days and three nights.  I have never bid for a vacation at a live auction but this opportunity was irresistible.  In fact, unable to attend conference, I bid over the phone for this item offered to the highest bidder at the HTWF live auction at the 2012 HTP Saturday night banquet.

I chose my stay at the Boathouse Cottage to coincide with the AHNA conference in Norfolk, VA in June 2013.  On the way to my destination on the Bay, my rental car and I explored the Del-Mar-Va peninsula, including a bucket list wish to see the famed Misty of Chincoteague.  Walking on the beautiful Delaware seashore was medicinal for me.

During my lazy days at the Cottage, I ventured out and had my fill of crab cakes, walked the footpaths of Revolutionary war heroes, browsed through cute shops, and even had enough alone time on the beach to get through most of James Michener's Chesapeake.  I even set out for the forty-five minute drive to the Brandywine Valley to visit Winterthur, the DuPont estate with impressive gardens and the definitive collection of American decorative art.  There were many treats for the senses for this mid-west girl!

HTWF thanks Mary Clark Confelone for donating her Boathouse Cottage and for her hospitality.  It was Melinda Chichester, HTCP who suggested to Mary that her beautiful cottage would be a winning item for the Foundation's fundraising.  Visit htwfoundation.org to learn more about the mission and vision of this non-profit that Janet Mentgen, founder of HTP, established in 1997.

If you have a vacation home, cabin, cottage or resort you would like to donate to a good cause, please contact Leslie at the HTWF office. 281-856-8340 or [email protected] Donations are tax deductible up to market value.

November 2013 HTPA Business Support Call
Insights into "How to" Bring Healing Touch Service into a Stand Down

with Susan Russell, HTCP/I

November 12th, 2013 - 9:00 PM Pacific Time

Offering Healing Touch Service to the Military and their families isone of THE most popular and sought after opportunities that our Healing Touch Community and HTPA Members request. The questions always seem to be: HOW can we get HT invited to participate in events; HOW can we organize volunteers to do the Service; How do we get invited back and more.

To respond, HTPA has been gathering insights from those who have been participating in Stand Downs, Welcome Homes, clinics, etc. One of the longest established Stand Downs is in San Diego, CA (infact it was the site of the very first Stand Down) and Healing Touch has been a part of it since its inception. This past year there were nearly 50 HT Volunteers who participated in that Stand Down. Joan Tweed (HTPA Member) was the first coordinator of HT Volunteers and then she passed the task on with it being sustained for over 20 something years - growing consistently each year. Other lead coordinators contributing to its success are Carole Sarian and most recently Lisa Goodman (both are HTPA Members).

Another very active Event location is Chicago, IL. Although their history is not as long as San Diego's they have also been growing their HT Service to the Military under the direction of Lynne O'Donnell (HTPA Member) and at their recent Welcome Home event had over 35 HT Volunteers participating there.  In addition, we know of several smaller events taking place all over the nation.

Based on the popularity of these type of HT Outreach Service opportunities plus the positive feedback from the Military persons receiving Healing Touch, HTP and HTPA reached out to ask Susan Russell (also a Stand Down lead coordinator of HT Volunteers and HTPA Member) to help create an e-Manual for anyone who wants to learn about participating in a Healing Touch Outreach Service event and answer the "HOW to" questions.

We are happy to announce that the e-Manual is ready and we want to introduce everyone to it during this "Live" Interview with Susan Russell. Susan has been involved in organizing several Stand Downs around the state of Texas. She is experienced with many aspects of Military protocol as she was in her words, a "Military Brat" during her childhood which has come in handy when dealing with introducing Healing Touch to Stand Down administrators and interfacing with the Vets who come to receive Healing Touch at the Events.

With the experience Susan has we were able to put together step by step guidance on

getting Healing Touch included (invited) into a Stand Down; specific Letter templates management; directions for setting up the space, time management and data collection; even what to wear to the event, etc., etc. With this e-Manual and the support of HTPA anyone who has a goal of bringing Healing Touch into a local Stand Down or other event will likely have success manifesting that goal.to use; Volunteer organization and

Come to this "Live" Interview call and you will learn exactly what to do to bring Healing Touch Service to the Military, you will get to review the new "How to" e-Manual and you will be able to ask Susan any questions you might have around this topic.

We look forward to having you join us!

Grant Funds Healing Touch Classes in VA Hospitals
null Several Veteran Administration hospitals across the country were recipients of a grant that contained monies for the sharing of best practices, namely Healing Touch. The grant monies have all been appropriated to the hospitals and many Healing Touch classes have already been taught this spring and summer, with the rest being taught this fall and early winter. This has been a wonderful opportunity to share Healing Touch with new VA hospitals and staff and has allowed VA facilities who already are utilizing Healing Touch to continue move forward with their Healing Touch programs.

Two VA classes in the Pacific Northwest to be held this fall are open to the public. If you live in this area, we would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Healing Touch Level 1 - November 14-15, Vancouver VA Hospital

If you would like to register for these classes or need more information, please contact Constance Hammond, [email protected] or 503-230-2331.

Voice for HOPE - Healers Of Planet Earth
Hope on the Hill program is scheduled:
December 9-11, 2013 - Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, USA

HOTH logo Voice for HOPE works to make these "natural" approaches to health an explicit and valued part of national health policy by:

1) tapping into the energy of the nearly one hundred organized "natural" health modalities currently being used by an estimated 200 million Americans, and

2) focusing it onto the national health policy debate by organizing a broad range of individuals and professionals -- an undertaking intended to transcend political identities and affiliations.

Voice for HOPE's purpose is to provide leadership and strategic vision to focus the energy of the "natural" health constituency on the national health reform effort.  HOPE's goal is to organize HOPE Builders in each of the nation's 9500 congressional and state legislative districts as guides, helpers and information sources for policy makers - a goal deemed doable by the time health reform efforts are set to climax in 2014.
