The Pacific Northwest Regional Conference in Seattle, WA Oct 4-5, 2013

A great time was had by all who attended this Conference but an especially FUN time was had by Dawn Warnaca, HTCP/I and Chair of the HTPA Community Connection Volunteer Bank and Sharon Robbins, HTCP and Executive Director of HTPA because they put on a hilarious skit Titled: "Embrace the Journey - Lewis and Clark on a Fishing Expedition."  A special Thanks is due to Dawn's husband Mike who supplied the full fishing gear and outfits including waders for Dawn and Sharon so they were not recognizable and another Thank You to Meg Haggerty who was indispensable as she hooked all the FISH for Lewis and Clark. The fish were items like an HTP Level 1 Notebook, Energy Ball, Liability Insurance App in a bottle and more. The skit ended with a "catch" of a t-shirt for Lisa Gordon that has I Love HTPA on it. A video of the skit was made and there is some rumor it might get posted on YouTube in the near future. We'll keep you all posted.

The Northeast Regional Conference in Albany, NY Oct 26, 2013

What a great Conference!! HTP decided to try a one day Conference and it was a huge success.  Of course much of the success is due to the enthusiasm and support that comes from the strong Community Sr. Rita Jean Dubrey has built there but also due to the format of having one major Keynote for morning and afternoon presentation. Most likely there will be future Regional Conferences that follow this format.

A side note: Lisa Gordon and her husband Chris made their first visit ever to New York City and had an awesome time experiencing the HUGE energy of "the city." They visited the Empire State Bldg and Times Square - alot experienced in just a short 6 hrs!!

There are now 30 Local HTPA Chapters in development. All are welcome to be part of Chapter activities (that includes HTI students and practitioners and others who are just friends of Healing Touch). If you would like to join a Chapter you can contact the Lead or if there is no Chapter in your area you can start one. The only requirement is that the Lead for the Chapter be an HTPA Member.  Aprons are Available for All to Use at HT Volunteer Events! 

If you have an event that you would like to have the Aprons for, just call the HTP Office (210) 497-5529 and request an Order Form. (We will be posting an order form on the HTPA website soon). Please make your Order at least two weeks in advance of your event to assure they ship in time. When you receive the Aprons you will receive a Return Label so that after your event you can easily send them back for others to use. If any of the Aprons need cleaning, they are machine washable - it would be appreciated to do so before returning them.

This is a full guide on how to make inquiries about bringing Healing Touch into a local Stand Down, Welcome Home, Health Fair, Clinic, etc.; how to organize volunteers once invited; suggestions for volunteer conduct and HT sessions and much, much more. Wall Certificates for New and Renewal Memberships

In response to requests from Members, we now are sending Wall Certificates to all new and renewal Members. These are great to have in your office or home healing space. A Certificate of Membership shows Professional Commitment and will be meaningful for your clients to see. It is also a small token of HTPA's appreciation for the continued support of all Members.

Funds for Service to the Military are available for eligible projects. We are looking for independent Healing Touch Service to the Military Projects to fund. If you know of any or have ideas, please email info@HTProfessionalAssociation.com.  

Grant Funds Healing Touch Classes in VA Hospitals

Several Veteran Administration hospitals across the country were recipients of a grant that contained monies for the sharing of best practices, namely Healing Touch. The grant monies have all been appropriated to the hospitals and most of the Healing Touch classes have already been taught.. This has been a wonderful opportunity to share Healing Touch with new VA hospitals and staff and has allowed VA facilities who already are utilizing Healing Touch to continue moving forward with their Healing Touch programs.
