Letter from the HTP CEO

Dear Healing Touch Community,

Spring is springing in the northern hemisphere and my spirits are light and full of hope and anticipation. So many exciting things are happening for the Healing Touch Program worldwide community. Many of you have been actively involved in multiple projects that have supported the ongoing growth of HT at the community, regional, national and international levels.

Here are just a few highlights:

HTP has two newly published Sounds True Productions Products:

  • Healing Touch Energy Therapy for Self-Care Home Study Course
  • Healing Touch for Beginners: Energy Practices for Self-Care

Both feature Janna Moll, HTCP/I. Sounds True is a highly esteemed company which has been producing audio products and books in the field of holistic health, body-mind-spirit topics, energy medicine and spirituality for almost 25 years with the works of prestigious names in the field such as Caroline Myss, Cyndi Dale, Thich Nat Hahn and many others. Having four products with ST is important name recognition for HTP. Click here to visit HTP's Sounds True Store with its other HT products.

We have five regional HTP conferences planned this year so that more students and practitioners can have the opportunity to gather with member of the HTP community to network, support each other, share information and wisdom, learn and celebrate our community. Regional conferences are shorter and more affordable, and are just as fun as fulfilling as our worldwide conference. (Next Worldwide Conference is August 2014 in Chicago).

HTPA April Business Support & Professional Development "LIVE" Interview
"Resources, Resources and More Resources: Where & How to Easily Find Them"
with Lisa Gordon, CEO and owner of HTP and
Cynthia Hutchison, HTP Program Director
Tuesday April 9, 2013 9pm Eastern

Whether you are a techno wiz or still living in a computer dark age, it's pretty likely that you have never really explored the Healing Touch Program (HTP) website(s) fully. Because the HTP websites are an information mecca, we would like to take you on an in-depth tour of them and introduce you to their many resources while we share just how helpful they can be for a multitude of reasons.

Did you know that HTP has a separate Practitioner Directory website for any HT practitioner who has completed Level 5 and for Qualified Mentors (QM) & mentors? Do you use that resource/Directory? We'll talk about how to utilize that website & Directory and if eligible, how you get posted on it. And did you know that HTP has a separate Research website? Have you been using that website? We'll show you that website and share ways you can use that resource to advance Healing Touch and support your practice.

During this Interview Lisa Gordon and Cynthia Hutchison will bring you updates on the Program Notebook revisions, Tech Card changes, tell you the difference between ANCC (providing CE contact hours) and NCCA (providing national accreditation in the future), how to find classes and instructors, how and why to communicate with the Ethics Committee, where to locate information about facilities that offer HT Service, and much more. They will also cover the newly released Sounds True Healing Touch for Beginners (DVD) and the Healing Touch Home Study Course: Energy Therapy for Self Care (CD, DVD and Guide Book) and talk about the Healing Touch Meditations. Access to these resources is invaluable and they're yours!  Join us to learn all about them and learn how easy it is to tap into them.

Not only can the resources available on the HTP websites help you advance in your HT studies and/or practice but they also can help you educate others about Healing Touch and help you grow your private practice business. Come to the Interview and you will go away not only with an appreciation of the huge amount of information and resources  available on the websites but you'll also gain the knowledge of how to navigate and use the HTP websites and you'll be able to help others use them too.

We invite you to join us for an informative, FUN discussion!  Click here to register.

FEATURE ARTICLES
Insights for the Healing Touch Level 4 Student
Victoria Steward 12/2012
Victoria Stewart
Created by Victoria Stewart, HTCP/I, HTACP
Developed by Kathryn DeSouchet, HTPA, MSW

This is the second article in a series of four articles on "Mentees Finding Mentors with Ease"

What Are my Choices When I Pick a Mentor?
How do I find a mentor that fills my needs that I have listed?

In the first article of "Mentees Finding Mentors with Ease (MME)," you were asked questions about what is important to you when selecting a mentor. After reviewing your needs, what do you do next?

Many resources are available to help you select your mentor, mentoring relationships and partnerships. The goal of this article is to introduce you to the resources, where to find them and how to use them most effectively. First we will discuss mentors, mentorships and partnerships. Then we will discuss tools to help you select your support team.

Let's start by defining a Mentor and Qualified Mentor (QM), and the difference between them. A Qualified Mentor is a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner (HTCP) who has demonstrated on application, and by acceptance, to be objectively qualified to successfully mentor students toward program completion and practitioner certification. A QM may supervise his/her own mentees as well as other non-QM Mentors and their mentees.

A Mentor can be anyone who has achieved HTCP status and is in good standing with HTP. Mentors are not required to apply for QM status. As of 2011, all non-QMs and their mentees (including nurses) must be supervised by a QM.

To read more information on mentors, mentees and mentorship, visit the HTP website at www.healingtouchprogram.com/resources/mentorship.

Articles in The Healing Touch Notebook Level 4/5 are a "must read". This section clearly defines Mentor, Mentorship and the partnerships you are creating.
