Lately there has been a ton of reporting that healers are not able to make an income over $25 or $30,000 a year as a practitioner in the "Healing Arts" (also known as Energy Medicine practice). But until we have grass roots reporting, we really don't know if that's true. And if it is true, HTPA wants to help by working together to develop and offer ideas of how to supplement that income and increase it to levels that would equate to a more secure financial return, especially if you are supporting a family and/or living in a high-cost of living area.

HTPA Business Support PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES

I have been a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner for 10 years and I am always looking to enhance my skills and understanding of energy. I have taken and retaken, many times, Sue Hovland's Anatomy for Healers� Level 1 and 2 classes, and Rita Kluny's Healing Touch for Babies workshop.

Just recently, I re-took the Healing Touch for Babies workshop for the second time and a light went off in my head about one of my clients who has a life time and multi-life time issues in her tissues. Rita Kluny made a statement during the HTB class that stuck with me. "Chakras were an energetic counter-part of the endocrine system".

In Anatomy for Healers Level 2 Sue Hovland teaches a Basic Glandular Balancing from Devra West of the Sacred Arts Institute. I love the Basic Glandular Balancing technique and use this quite a lot.  This technique has eleven hand positions that work with everything in the glandular system. Read more.

Classes offered by Anatomy for Healers�

The Anatomy for Healers Level 1, 2 and 3 classes offer a unique hands-on approach that integrates the knowledge of anatomy with the energy system of the body. It is appropriate for advanced energy healers who are new to anatomy, as well as for nurses and others who have studied conventional anatomy. 

Level 1 Anatomy for Healers�
Teaches the energetic experience of the normal body systems, organs, and endocrine glands through multi-media learning, interactive exercises, and advanced new hands-on energy treatments. The locations, functions, symbology, and the energy of the organs and systems in the body will be discovered. 

Prerequisite: Healing Touch Level 3 or similar. 27 Continuing education hours.

Level 2 Anatomy for Healers�
Covers a more in-depth experience in the tissues and several systems of the body (skeletal, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, and endocrine) using an anatomical approach to advanced energy treatment of specific clinical problems in those systems of diseases including back problems and a full treatment protocol for allergies. 
Prerequisite: Anatomy for Healers� Level 1 or permission of instructor. 24 CE Hours.

Level 3 Anatomy for Healers�
Studies in much greater detail the structures, functions, and subtle energy of the brain and nervous system. Using that knowledge, advanced energy treatments will be learned for stress, trauma, nerve injury, neurotransmitters, autonomic nervous system balance, plus some health problems and diseases.
Prerequisite: Anatomy for Healers� Level 1. 24 CE hours.

Cranial Sacral Applications for Healers
Learn the part of cranial-sacral therapy that can be easily used with Healing Touch, other energy-based therapy, or massage. This knowledge of cranial therapy will be very useful in your practice as well as giving you a great introduction and understanding about cranial-sacral therapy. 8 CE hours.

Energetic Allergy Treatment with Healing Touch or Other Energy Therapy
Allergens are substances that cause a disruption in the body's energy systems, causing symptoms depending where that imbalance occurs. Participants will learn to identify allergens by energy assessment and muscle testing. Then they will learn several different energy treatment approaches that will be useful in their HT or other energy practice by working on actual allergies of their partners in class. Self treatment will also be addressed. 8 CE hours.

Calgary and area is fortunate to have an organization, Healing Touch Calgary, that supports Healing Touch students, apprentices, practitioners and instructors in the area by providing awareness of practice groups, Healing Touch courses, practitioner development seminars and potluck events to create moments of community. Although based in Calgary, there are HTC members throughout Alberta, as well as British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

More than 50 members and guests converged at Parkdale United Church in Calgary's northwest on Friday, November 30th, for our annual Christmas Potluck. This year was more than a social event as three new Healing Touch Certified Practitioners, Jill Joevenazzo, Bonnie Bailey and Lynda Waddington, were pinned by their mentor, Betty Minifie, in a meaningful ceremony.

Words of inspiration were read by Marsha Read, Joanne Watson and Don Watt. After this, Betty called each new HTCP one at a time to receive her pin, along with a candle and personal blessing from Marsha Read. Each of our three new HTCPs shared what brought her to Healing Touch and what she has learned. Janet Mentgen, our grateful hearts say thank you for your strong presence in the room that night. 

For the second time, the Healing Touch Community of the Province of Baden W�rttemberg in Germany came together to share healing work and friendship. We started the day sharing our experiences with Healing Touch. There were a lot of deep impressions told and we were all very thankful for them. We then treated each other for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. In between we had a wonderful and delicious lunch and everyone was having a good time. We closed up with a meditation for peace in the world and health for some of our community. Everyone left with a deep feeling of connection to the Healing Touch Community, thankful and completely renewed.
