I was grateful to attend two wonderful Healing Touch community events recently. In May I traveled to Chicago for the Midwest Regional Conference, Healing from the Heartland. It was amazing to be with 150 fellow Healing Touch friends from throughout the Midwest. We laughed, learned, sang and thoroughly enjoyed our time together.
At the beginning of June I
went to Colorado to attend Cynthia Hutchison's Healing Touch Shadowcliff Retreat. This is where my mother, Janet, loved to gather with Healing Touch instructors. I loved being in the natural beauty and  sharing personal time with those who were present. Read more.

Hutchison, we want to bring her back to continue the discussion we started about the benefits of meditation practice, and specifically the benefits of Healing Touch Meditations.
We will be sending all registrants the transcription of the May 8th interview so we do not have to repeat what has already been covered. On the call we will recap some of the discussion and accept questions from those attending the interview.
Cynthia will be offering a short meditation and then we will go on to discuss the part of the interview that we did not have time for because of the technical disruptions. We will be covering the business aspects of how to create your own meditation recordings and what Cynthia's experience was creating the two unique CD sets that are currently available. She will also tell us her experience developing her personal website and how it has evolved to become an important business tool.

Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation Auction Update
|
 Tibetan singing bowls, embroidered purses, rings and bracelets were only some of the wonderful items raffled off at the Midwest Regional HT Regional Conference last month in Chicago. Generous vendors also contributed to HTWF raffle to raise funds to benefit the advancement of Healing Touch through research and outreach. A raffle record $2,080 was raised to benefit the Foundation.
Thank you Chicago and Heartland USA for your generous giving! Tim and Pam McConville carried three heavy boxes of items from Nepal to Chicago, gifts from Aparna Bhatta, 2010 Janet Mentgen Fund recipient.

A Soulful Exploration of Healing Touch

In the mountains of Colorado on the Southwest edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, on a cliff overlooking Grand Lake, alongside a cascading river in a beautiful facility, we gathered for the Healing Touch Shadowcliff Retreat to focuse on Spirituality in Healing Touch. It is a sacred, special place in beautiful nature where Janet Mentgen first envisioned the Healing Touch Program.
It was an amazing experience of community gathering together, sharing, caring, healing and restoring. There were 46 people in attendance at the retreat, embodying more than 750 years of healing experience.

Healing From the Heartland ~ 2012 HT Midwest Regional Conference

It was heart from the start! The first-ever 2012 Midwest Regional Healing Touch Conference in Chicago began as a question at the 2011 Healing Touch Worldwide Conference in San Antonio - "Why don't we have one of these in Chicago?" Being new to conference-planning didn't deter Kathryn Hungness, Mary Sinclair, Lois Coldewey, Katie Oberlin and a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers from enthusiastically setting about learning ow to make it happen. The Conference culminated nine months later on May 4th and 5th, 2012 with a heart-centered experience of connection for 150 attendees,
speakers,volunteers and exhibitors. They arrived from all directions - Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, Colorado, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Alaska and Canada.

Each in their own way, the speakers shared wisdom near and dear to her own heart. Sharon Scandrett-Hibdon opened the conference keynotes with a heartfelt presentation on client centered communication skills that left us feeling profoundly connected. Sue Hovland took us on an intuitive journey through the body and taught us a lung cleanse and immune boost. Barbara Starke shared from her storehouse of nutritional information about what to eat and why. Marilee Tolen gave an eloquent presentation on the energy of money and how to shift our energy to attract it. And Lisa Mentgen Gordon surprised and delighted everyone when she described the many groundbreaking projects underway at Healing Touch Program. Read more.
