Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club will host the Hudson Golf Open Friday, June  14, 2013. The event, sponsored by the Hudson Public Schools Endowment Fund, raises money for the Memorial and Tribute Fund that supports extracurricular and academic programs in Hudson schools.

The outing begins with a shotgun scramble at 8:30 am and includes

18-holes, golf cart, snack and catered lunch. Prizes will be awarded for hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest putt, and longest drive. In case of rain, the luncheon will remain on schedule and golfers will be given a rain check to play the course later in the season.

The cost for individuals is $80, $48 being tax deductible, and $320 for foursomes, with $128 being tax deductible. The Hudson Public Schools Endowment Fund is an affiliate of the Akron Community Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) public charity. Checks should be made payable to Hudson Public Schools Endowment Fund and sent to P.O. Box 792, Hudson, OH 44236. Patrons wishing to donate to the event or contribute prizes should contact Diane Bonham.

Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club's Junior League is set to tee off next Tuesday, June 11 and will run for seven consecutive weeks. Clinics will also be held every other week starting at 9 am and are intended for children with limited experience with golf.

Competition in the league is based on age and ability, with ages 8-17 open to participate. Younger students will play nine holes unless permission is given by one of the instructors to play 18.

Registration is $90 and includes greens fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and complimentary beverages. Proceeds of the event support the Northwest Fraternal Order of Police Annual Scholarship Fund.
