President's MessageTOP

It's another new year; I hope your Holidays were joyful. Now that the kids are back in school, it is time to mark our calendars with dental functions and meetings. We had a fun time at the Holiday party, but the number of members who attended was less than usual.

Our next meeting is January 20th at Bon Appetit,  Dr. Tony Young Ho Yoon will be lecturing on Computer Guided Implant Surgery.

Dentists' Day on the Hill (DDOH) is early this year due to the change in the legislation session. Plan on attending DDOH on February 2-3rd in Tallahassee. Click here to register, first time attendees can apply for funding through the West Coast District Dental Association's Dan Bertoch Memorial Fund, click here for more details.

The WCDDA Annual meeting will be February 19th at the CAMLS center in downtown Tampa, courses are almost sold out, click here to register.

The UPCDA Bowling Tournament will be Friday February 26th at Countryside Lanes. If you have never participated, you should defiantly join us this year! It is a lot of fun and a good moral booster for our office staff.

Give Kids a Smile will be at three of the Heath Department clinics: St Pete, Largo and Clearwater on February 27th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

The FDA's Mission of Mercy event will be in Jacksonville this year on April 22-23rd. Volunteer registration is open.

Our End-of-Year Party will be Friday May 13th at Ozona Blue on the outdoor deck. This is always a party with good food, good music and good cheer.

The Florida's Dental Convention is June 16-18th at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando.

As long as you are marking these dates on your calendars, be sure to also save some Fridays for HEP, Gulf Coast Dental Outreach, Clearwater Dental Clinic and the Heath Department. They need our help and support.

Warm Regards,

Marty

History of Dentistry in Pinellas County,  Donations needed
Professional local historical journalist, Jon Wilson, has agreed to author an inspiring and instructive story, a legacy which would be sadly lost to our present and future dentists were we not caring enough to preserve our past and path forward. The sacrifices, difficulties and ethical dilemmas faced by our pioneer mentors need to be known, respected and preserved. They bequeathed to us a noble profession, raising the bar of public trust and confidence that we must maintain in order to stop the gradual slide into an adverse health system we have fought so long and hard to prevent. click here to read more...
