A Note From Tina
Is Your Baby Getting Enough Tummy Time?

Babies need sufficient tummy time to ensure timely development in rolling over, sitting up, standing, walking and even brain development. Parents are told it's necessary but soon find that babies used to sleeping on their backs and spending time in car seats, strollers and carriers aren't comfortable with tummy time. It's hard to see your baby frustrated so parents often give up too easily. By three months your baby should be able to tolerate around an hour of tummy time a day (spread out in small segments).

Here's a great link to show where babies should be developmentally from day one to 12 months:

Doctors have noticed more and more delays over the years in many of these developmental milestones so the founders of Baby Signs created a tummy time class to help. See details below about how this four-class series can help keep your baby on their tummy longer with simple, easy-to-do activities at home.

Note: This Thursday will be only the second class at Special Addition because we changed the dates a little so come on in (register

About Tina
Are you the parent of a baby or toddler and you are frustrated and overwhelmed because you can't understand what your child needs or wants?

Baby SignsŪ Instructor Tina Cavanaugh is here to help you break the communication barrier! With a few signs, babies as young as seven or eight months are able to express their needs, wants, feelings and even memories. Doing this strengthens the infant/parent bond early and gives your child a jump-start toward speaking and early literacy.

With 10 years of sign language training and five years teaching Baby Signs classes, Tina shows parents how to be amazed and thrilled over and over as their baby or toddler begins to share their world with them. Being involved in a process that builds confidence and good self-esteem early in children is huge and the stories that parents share with Tina about their success is pure joy for her.

The play classes go far beyond just learning a few signs. Parents go home with information about how their baby learns and develops intellectually and emotionally through those all-imporant first few years of their lives. Come join the fun that everyone's talking about!
