A Note From Tina
After the Storm

After the Memorial Day storms and days and days of rain preceding it you can't walk across Lake Travis to Sometimes Island (or Penensula) anymore. That's the good news. But the bad news was devastating for so many people who are still recovering in Austin, San Marcos, Wimberley and so many other nearby cities and areas. 

          

There is still lots to do and many relief efforts are being made to help those in need. Thank you to all the rescuers of people, animals and property and all the organizations doing their part to chip in. Everything helps.

Add to the list the upcoming event "It Takes a Village" being put on at Baby Earth in Round Rock by Austin Moms Blog on June 27th. ALL TICKET SALES will be donated to the Texas Red Cross to help the flood victims. See details below about the event and make a point to come and hear some informative speakers and meet vendors who have something special for your little one.

No matter what culture you come from, it takes a village to raise a child. Come meet many of the experts who are gathered to help you with everything from breast feeding issues to potty training and everything in between. Lots of prizes and drawings by the event and at individual vendor booths. Remember, all ticket sales go to the Texas Red Cross to help the recent flood victims.

Yes, we'll be herding pigs in a book store.

And after there will be free snacks from Happy Family so come early to get settled in 
before it begins.

Play Class for Young Babies

Sundays, 2:00 to 2:45 p.m.
Beginning June 28th (see dates below)

Six-week play class for parent(s) and baby. Six themes (mealtime, bath time, bedtime, getting dressed, pets and park) cover useful signs each week to help your baby tell you what they want, need, and remember.

Reduce frustration and enhance the bond between you and your baby with simple signs you can incorporate easily into your routine. BeeBo™ the Baby SignsŪ Bear helps babies learn the signs each week along with lots of music and fun activities. Parents learn how to teach the signs, and other parent education tips like what helps babies learn and when your baby will sign back to you, etc.

This class is best (more fun) for mobile babies (approx. 8 to 14 months).

More Sign, Say & Play Class

Have a little one over 14 months? Do they know a sign or two and you want to continue with the fun songs and socializing? Contact me now.

The next "More Sign, Say & Play Class will be at Xplor Childcare in NW Austin 
(on Anderson Mill Rd. close to Hwy. 183).


Classes Available:

NEW! - Individual Training Sessions ($150 - includes kit and handouts w/60 minute training). All family members are welcome. This is great for families that live too far out to come to a regular play class. If you live in Timbuktu, I'll come to you!
Sibling Class - My Baby & Me (45-min. one-time class - $30)
Tummy Time Class (four 45-min. class series - $100)
Parent Workshop (90 minute evening workshop - $75)
Sign, Say & Play Class (six 45-min. class series - $150) - for babies/toddlers 8 to 14 months
More Sign, Say & Play Class (six-45-min. class series - $150) - for older toddlers who sign a little (14 - 36 months)

About Tina
Are you the parent of a baby or toddler and you are frustrated and overwhelmed because you can't understand what your child needs or wants?

Baby SignsŪ Instructor Tina Cavanaugh is here to help you break the communication barrier! With a few signs, babies as young as seven or eight months are able to express their needs, wants, feelings and even memories. Doing this strengthens the infant/parent bond early and gives your child a jump-start toward speaking and early literacy.

With 10 years of sign language training and five years teaching Baby Signs classes, Tina shows parents how to be amazed and thrilled over and over as their baby or toddler begins to share their world with them. Being involved in a process that builds confidence and good self-esteem early in children is huge and the stories that parents share with Tina about their success are pure joy for her.

The play classes go far beyond just learning a few signs. Parents go home with information about how their baby learns and develops intellectually and emotionally through those all-imporant first few years of their lives. Come join the fun that everyone's talking about!
