A Note From Tina
Laissez Les Bons Temp Rouler!
(Let the good times roll!)

It's Mardi Gras season and the parties and parades are starting in New Orleans very soon. They'll roll right through Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday) on March 4th. Being from Louisiana I have to do my celebrating in Austin so 6th street will have to do for now.

The 1st play class of this year is off and running at the Little Yoga House and another one is scheduled for Mondays starting in February in north Austin. The previously scheduled More Sign, Say & Play Class didn't make so this second class for the younger toddlers (8 - 14 mths.) will take it's place. See details below.

Another story time at Barnes & Noble Lakeline is on the calendar for Saturday morning Feb. 8th. Also details about a sibling class for those of you expecting another baby is scheduled too so keep reading.

At the childcare centers where I teach we've been learning weather signs and everyone might have the chance to sign "snow" here very soon. Woo hoo! (Snow - flutter fingers in downward motion to mimic snow coming down).

Stay warm and happy signing!

Baby Signs Meetup.com - Austin
Cancelled

We got up to 40 members but not enough regular attendance to the meetups was happening so I've closed the group for now. Those members not already getting this newsletter were invited to join us here. I'll still do a few outings for "the little signers" this year year so those of you who want to keep signing with other families stay tuned. See details below for an outing to learn the signs for sea creatures at the new Austin Aquarium in February.

About Tina
Are you the parent of a baby or toddler and you are frustrated and overwhelmed because you can't understand what your child needs or wants?

Baby SignsŪ Instructor Tina Cavanaugh is here to help you break the communication barrier! With a few signs, babies as young as seven or eight months are able to express their needs, wants, feelings and even memories. Doing this strengthens the infant/parent bond early and gives your child a jum-start toward speaking and early literacy.

With 10 years of sign language training and five years teaching Baby Signs Tina shows parents how to be amazed and thrilled over and over as their baby or toddler begins to share their world with them. Being involved in a process that builds confidence and good self-esteem early in children is huge and the stories that parents share with Tina about their success is pure joy for her.

The play classes go far beyond just learning a few signs. Parents go home with information about how their baby learns and develops intellectually and emotionally through those all-imporant first few years of their lives. Come join the fun that everyone's talking about!
