Coaches Corner

Dear  ,

"Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you travelled from where you started."

I shared this quote with you all once before, and I think it resonates well once again as we reflect on the end of another fine season.  We certainly came a long way as we battled through a tough schedule and worked through many ups and downs, and another winning season with 16 wins is certainly something to be proud of.

This thought rings most profoundly as we reflect on the progress of the fine senior class.  The work of Izac Sheforgen, Matt Turba, Alex Diciaula (Alex has another year of eligibility left due to a medical redshirt year), Jasper Duberry, and Cole Lewis over the course of their careers truly resulted in a great "distance travelled from where they started."  Through their efforts and development the program continued to make great strides each year.  Although they came up just short of their ultimate goals, they certainly have a lot to be proud of and can rest assured that they have left a great standard for the returning guys to uphold on and off the floor.  Thanks gentlemen.

Peace,

Coach Wagner

An uncharacteristic 27 turnovers was too much to overcome for the Viterbo University men's basketball team as they fell 73-63 to Grand View University in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Quarterfinals.

Coming into tonight's contest, the V-Hawks were averaging just 11.1 turnovers per game and a conference best assist to turnover ratio (1.34). Tonight was a different story for the V-Hawks as they turned the ball over 27 times and let Grand View outscore them 22-3 on turnovers.
