NEWS ALERT                                            516-THE-SPCA
Nassau County SPCA Announces

Miss Harper Scheduled For Surgery

The experiment with the prosthetic leg has not gone as expected and a decision has been made to remove the remainder of her right rear leg. The fact that she is so young, so high energy worked against the artificial leg being a success. This is a major surgery and what complicates matters is that she has a problem with her left rear leg. She originally had neurological damage to the left and had lost a toe and now at least another toe must be removed also. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 8th. This is not an appeal for funds as we have collected enough for her care. We at the Nassau County SPCA are asking you to put her in your prayers that the surgery goes well and she recovers quickly. God Bless Miss Harper!
