Dear parents and guardians,
We've had a smooth start to the 2016-2017 school year here at Scecina. It's great to have the students back. There is nothing like the energy of 450+ teenagers.
We at Scecina want your child to be successful in school, and we believe that a strong partnership between our staff and you is the best way to accomplish that. I know that by working together we can ensure the success of all our students. And so we invite you to attend Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, Aug. 24, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Please join us for an hour that will set the stage for a successful school year.
We will begin with a brief welcome in the gym, and then you may visit classrooms and meet our teachers and staff. Our president, Joe Therber, will be in the library to show you the transformation that is underway. Our Guidance Center and Bookstore will be open. The Technology Lab will have staff available to assist parents in logging into PowerSchool. Mrs. Clinger will be available to answer questions for our Spanish-speaking families. Herff Jones will be here to take orders for class rings. FLAG will be on hand to answer questions about hosting an international student at Scecina. And Vocational Rehab will be on campus to provide information about services available to our students. We will wrap up the evening with an ice cream treat in the cafeteria.
We really hope you can attend. It will be a wonderful time of community fellowship that will benefit your children/our students as we start another great year at Scecina.
God Bless,
John Hegarty
Principal
