Novena for Peace
Following a week of violence across the United States, the Knights of Columbus has called for a novena of prayer to heal the wounds and divisions afflicting this country. All are encouraged to join in the novena (nine days of prayer) that will run from July 14-22 by praying the Prayer of St. Francis (Prayer for Peace).
PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

College Tips

Get a Head Start
Talk to your student about taking AP or dual-credit classes to get a better idea of the academic rigor ahead of them. Not only will this prepare them for the college classroom, but also provides them with the opportunity to gain college credit before becoming a student at a university. Universities will notice your student's hard work, which might set them apart from other applicants. Ask your student to talk to a counselor and see what their school has to offer.
