New information in red headlines
To make The Weekly more reader friendly and easier to digest, information that is new that week will have red headlines. Older news will have black headlines.
Senior Photos
Class of 2017, it's time to schedule your senior yearbook photo. Tiffany Photography is the official photographer for the Scecina yearbook. You must have a senior portrait taken at Tiffany for inclusion in the yearbook.
Tiffany also offers packages for your senior photos. Even if you have senior photos taken elsewhere, Tiffany must take your yearbook photo.
The Yearbook Only sitting consists of six (6) poses with the yearbook background only. The sitting fee is $25. Please have your photo taken by Nov. 4, 2016, for inclusion in the yearbook. You pick out the image you want for the yearbook and Tiffany will do the rest. The image will be retouched, cropped, color corrected, and sent directly to the yearbook editor.
If you are involved in any fall sports, we strongly urge you to try to arrange appointments soon. Tiffany will make every effort to accommodate your busy practice schedules.
International students need hosts
Will you host an international student? Scecina is looking for three more host families for our incoming international students for the 2016-17 year. The international students pay their own tuition and school-related expenses. Host families receive a $600-a-month stipend during the school year and a $1,000 scholarship toward Scecina tuition.
For more information or to apply to be a host family, contact Sara Britt at sbritt@flag-intl.org or (317) 443-3636.

College Tips
|
Get a Head Start
Talk to your student about taking AP or dual-credit classes to get a better idea of the academic rigor ahead of them. Not only will this prepare them for the college classroom, but also provides them with the opportunity to gain college credit before becoming a student at a university. Universities will notice your student's hard work, which might set them apart from other applicants. Ask your student to talk to a counselor and see what their school has to offer.
