A new year brings new projects 
for Scecina


Welcome to 2016!
The new year brings good news of some positive changes coming soon to Scecina Memorial High School. These projects are:
  • Modernization of the library coming this summer.
  • A much-needed new sound system for the gymnasium that is now being installed.
  • Security cameras inside and outside of the building. 
These three projects -- all part of our Facility Master Plan -- represent a $500,000 investment in

Angela Espada, a 1979 graduate of Scecina Memorial High School, is a leader in our community and was the first in her family to attend college and later law school. She has inspired countless future leaders throughout Indianapolis and beyond. Angela attributes her four years at Scecina and the guidance of two wonderful nuns, Sister Dolores Jean Nellis and Sister Lavonne Long, with helping her pursue her dreams of higher education. ...Read More

Scecina hosted another great Red and Gold basketball game, including a popular new twist: Besides the traditional appearance of the Red and Gold Court, and the naming of the king and queen, Scecina also held its first Alumni Appreciation Night on Jan. 9.

The Scecina Crusaders girls basketball team spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2016 celebrating the legacy and life of the famed civil rights leader. They participated in special programs at the Indiana Historical Society and also performed service through

  • After many wonderful years as owner and former owner of Dufour's in Irvington, Maria Dufour '71 and Bernadette Dufour Lathrop '64, have decided to close their beloved restaurant. We will miss their delicious food and everything they have done for Scecina, especially their involvement in Club 53! The Indianapolis Star interviewed both Maria and Bernadette: Longtime landmark Dufour's in Irvington is closing
