Student Spotlight:
Emily Quinn '18
Each week the Scecina Student Spotlight introduces the Crusader Community to a student who has been a recipient of the President's Academic Excellence Award.
Emily Quinn is a Scecina sophomore with a passion for reading. She names Vikki Wakefield ("Friday Never Leaving") and John Green ("Looking For Alaska") among her favorite authors. Emily finds particular inspiration from Green, trying to model her life after his motivating words "What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable?"

Canned corn, green beans, peas and potatoes are especially needed!
Our total cans raised so far: 1,992! We are well on our way to our school goal of 10,000 cans! As of Monday, the totals were:
Freshmen
| 48 | Sophomores | 319 | Juniors | 481 | Seniors | 561 | Teachers | 75 |
The sophomores and juniors tied last weekend at the Powder Puff game, so they will split the cans the event brought in! Overall we had a good turnout. Thanks for all those who helped with the event! Dodgeball Tournament for food drive We have one more event in support of the canned food drive! On Friday Nov. 20 there will be a dodgeball tournament! The winning class then will play the teachers in the championship game.
