All Students

September 21 will be a service day for all freshmen and sophomores. This also will be a college visit day for all juniors and seniors. All freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors must turn in a permission slip to be able to attend these events.

Seniors
  • It's that time of year again. Register for the SAT and ACT! The next SAT testing date is October 3. Come to the Guidance Office for a SAT/ACT test booklet and information.

  • Please pay close attention to deadlines for college applications and scholarship deadlines. Many schools have a November 1 deadline for early action decisions as well as consideration for merit scholarships. All transcripts for college applications are processed through Parchment. All students must set up an account through Parchment in order to have transcripts sent with college applications. This can be found at parchment.com.
  • This fall  a number of colleges and universities will visit Scecina. College admissions representatives may come for a lunch visit or may present to a small group of students during the school day. It is important that your student sign up to hear valuable information if he or she is interested in one of the colleges listed below.
9/10       Miami University of Ohio
9/15       DePauw University

Juniors
  • All juniors have the opportunity to attend a field trip to an Indiana college or university selected by Scecina. Transportation will be provided and the field trip will be chaperoned by Scecina faculty and staff. This day is set for September 21. Students can choose from Ball State, IUPUI, or Indiana State University. Signup sheets will be available for the students.

  • All juniors will take the PSAT on October 28. The PSAT results provide an indication of what students would score if they were taking the actual SAT, an exam commonly used to aid colleges in making admissions decisions. Results will be given to students at the end of the semester.
Freshmen and Sophomores
  • Freshmen and sophomores will participate in services projects throughout the greater Indianapolis area supervised by member of the Scecina faculty. This will be held on September 21.
  • All sophomores will take the PSAT on October 28. The PSAT results provide an indication of what students would score if they were taking the actual SAT, an exam commonly used to aid colleges in making admissions decisions. Results will be given to students at the end of the semester.
